We went to Brisbane last weekend (left Thursday morning and got back Monday afternoon) for a volleyball comp again. Our Under 16 school girls played with only 1 inexperienced sub while other teams had 4 to 6 subs. So basically our girls played continuously without being substituted off the court and were undefeated the entire tournament. They won "gold" yet again and are once again the Qld Champions, defeating Macgregor (Brisbane team) in a fantastic grand final. Last year they were the Queensland and National Champions and are hoping to finish off the year with another National "gold" medal win. Of the 6 girls who are on the floor playing, 4 are state reps (including my daughter) 2 of them have been invited to National training camps (including my daughter) and one of them is a National and international representative. Not a bad "resume" heh!!!!
Well I feel much better now, having done that "brag"

I am one very proud mum.
Oh i almost forgot (how could I do that. LOL) as usual we took Skye with us and I am getting a reputation as "the lady with the bird". I thought that was funny, I get recognised for my bird and not Rhianna for her talents. LOL

Just joking.
Oh also (my memory is slipping away) my husband took his push bike and on the sunday he went for a bike ride from southbank in Brisbane to the Gold coast with about 2500 other riders. It was a fundraising event for diabeties (my husband is diabetic and also loves to ride long distance). I had to take him into the city - this is a girl from the country - and then find my way back to the outer suburb of Kallangur. I made a wrong turn and ended up heading in a totally different direction to were I was supposed to go and did an illegal u turn over 6 lanes (I think there were 6) and found my way back to southbank and started again. Made another wrong turn, but was still heading in the correct direction and eventually made it back to my kids in the unit and got Rhianna to volleyball on time.
On our way back home (we stayed in a country town called Nanango on the way down and back - my best friend of 32 years lives there now) we were held up by an accident. A sedan had hit a "camel" - yes I said a camel. When I messaged my friend to say we were held up about 30 mins, she thought I had been drinking when I said the car hit a camel. But she saw it in the paper a few days later and "messaged me to say that obviously I had not been drinking because it was in the paper - women is ok but camel is dead". So that was our exciting 5 days.
