I am kinda thinking that WE definitely NEED a birds_parrents

bird_parrents PLAYROOM!!!! Sounds like the way the messages have been going ...we REALLY NEED our own message playroom...with warning to "ENTER at YOUR OWN RISK"....I mean, afterall...there is so much personal convo going on between buddies here & there... I thought this idea would be good for all the NEWBIES especially!! So as not to hurt a newbies feelings ya know!???? Anyways....I am SURE it is EASY to make such a spot on the board....& just call it Parents_Playground or sumpin like that!! I think its a great idea.....don't you???

It's possible to make a forum hidden to everyone except certain users. (IE, if you want to be a part of the parents playroom, you send me a PM, and I add you to the active users list.)

If anyone is interested in this, let me know.

OH, and the mods have been tossing this around for like.....ever, and we just never did it.

Yeah, that could be fun! Some of us do have a bit raunchier sense of humour than others so I like the idea of having it opt-in so the more conservative people won't be offended. And so we don't have to use #$%^ for naughty words. Count ME in though!

well it's not cliquish at all. that way if someone who isn't a member of said group searches for a term, they won't get this stuff that they DON'T want to see. If we go through with this idea, then I see this as the perfect way to do it.

Well, i'm not sure what the wink means, but I was sort of thinking age limit also. seriously, because I don't want any of the yungins (Heh, I sound so old) stumbling on to some of the stuff that I know you guys talk about. (Hey, I remember the chat room conversations too)

What about threads that start out innocently like the "Welcome Ellie Mae" one that somehow turned into a discussion about gays, underage girls and oversized bras? OK, that last one was my fault (the first 2 weren't) and that was probably the most hilarious thread I have ever seen, but I wouldn't want my mother to see it!

Can you move them to an "adults only" forum? Or divide out the raunchy stuff and leave the innocent stuff in case the OP wants to continue his/her topic without us crazies corrupting it! Oo

By having an age limit, I'm protecting myself from getting a phone call/email about someone who DID NOT want their daughter/son to see this stuff. That's the way I see it. There is some stuff on this board that I honestly wouldn't want my little brothers to see. And they've seen some pretty raunchy stuff. That's just the way i see it.

Parents Playground

WELL I certainly didn't mean to suggest ANY area a member is to be excluded from!! I was simply thinking a room designated & named Parents Playground (meaning us birdie parents of various ages)! The thought was merely to allow comfortable discussion between those of us who start a lil razzzing on another (all in fun as always..) and having such a room would not then interfere with a thread where someone is seriously looking for info/advice etc, not a bunch of 'goof_ball' posts (no offense, but ya know what I mean..). I only thought the Parent Room would HELP keep this place as awesome it can be & flourish! We ALL love goofing around & especially the guys who have had an on_going time of it! I find it is wonderful to be comfortable interacting as such...But when I consider the new_comers...I think of it this way>> "Here we are...Birdboard.com a wonderful neighborhood & asthetically appealing as well!>>>THEN ...Uh_Oh there is only one problem >>LOOK at all the graffitti on the building!<< UUUmmmm, people may then say to themselves..."maybe this is a place we rather not be or simply don't belong,,," Then we may lose some really great people who simple didn't have thier chance to fit in...if you know what I mean!????? Did I explain that right by giving a lil scenario?? I do understand Kvn's point being..BUT also LOOK at the age of the leader of this site!! And for such a young man ~ He certainly has done a TERRIFIC job in developing & maintaining one awesome site!!!! I believe we all agree on that~ without a doubt! So what I am trying to say, there MUST be a way that we can figure this out fairly for all!! :D
