I named my senegal Adrian aftet rmy favorite TV detective-- Adrian Monk. It fits because he seems to be a scaredy cat like Monk at times.

Matilda got her name from the roald dahl book, which is about the super smart little girl... Matilda.
Soon as I opened Matildas travel box she said 'oh hello'. Matilda talking to me from day one... I decided she was smart.

Poppy is just a happy little bird with a vibrant personality. She just suited 'Poppy'

Lily is coloured like a lily, also a conure like Poppy so she got a floral name.

My first two brds were Peach Faced Love Birds. The female was a normal girl, the male had a mutation that made all of his colors darker than the female. (I was 9, so I can't remember all the correct terms, sorry). I thought the lady looked like the sunrise, and the gent looked like the sky right as the last ray of light from the sun goes beyond the horizon, so they were Dusk and Dawn.

Then, Dawn killed Dusk. And we got her a replacement friend. Same dark mutation, on his colors were even darker. So, Dawn and Twilight.

Then Dawn killed Twilight. So I called her the Black Widow, and we gave her to a friend of the family who was a LB breeder as it was obvious she wanted the babies and we kept giving her boys that didn't. To this day she's a beautiful little lady who is very happy with her man.

Scarlett is my ekkie, and my mother and I were watching Gone With The Wind when I was 16. We decided, since I was getting a female ekkie and she was getting a male CAG that we'd name them Scarlett and Rhett. I call her Scar-Scar, or Lady Bug, usually. BUT

Rhett turned out to be Quasi. Instead of getting the CAG we had our deposit on, the breeder got a special Grey in with a twisted neck. We immediately fell in love with him and had to have him. He walked in circles at first, and was hunched over and limped like Quasimodo in the Disney Hunchback movie. So we called him Quasi.

It's not my bird, but my orange Maine Coon, Opie. . .everyone thinks I named him after Ron Howard's character on the Andy Griffith show. Haha. . .I let them think that but his name is short for Opiate. When I rescued him, he had just gotten all of his surgeries, been fixed, had his bashed in paw fixed, etc. . .and he was drugged up and walking in circles and meowing at "ghosts." It just fit.

My macaw Newton is named after non other than Sir Isaac Newton, because he's totally brilliant.

My dog Cash got his name because when we found him dumped in a cow pasture. He was in such bad shape, the vet asked us how much $$$ did we want to spend. LOL

My horse came with his "barn" name.. Handsome. and he is indeed handsome.

Charlie was going to be named Valentine because my husband bought him for me for Valentines Day but my kids thought it was silly to name him that. I have 3 children and each of them had a name for him, Baby was one, Buddy and Charlie so I ended up putting them 3 names in a hat and the one picked out was Charlie.

Mocha is called that cause of the colour on his wings.
Malibu is called that because he is mostly white.

Wink A Brand Name for my Senegal

Max the Senegal was a tough one to name at first. I wanted to call him Djibo, which I found on list of African names, but my family protested and said it was too hard to pronounce. He went nameless for a couple of days and then one afternoon he decided to hobble along when I was working at the computer and remove one of the function keys from my Macintosh keyboard. I said to my husband, "Hey, he likes Macs!" and he became Max. I figure if we find out he's a she at a later stage, we can change it to Maxine.

My Amazon, Percy, was named after my favorite Ernie Kovaks character, Percy Dovetonsils. My Blue & Gold ended up with the Knucklehead moniker because while I was trying to come up with a name for her, we used to call her Knucklehead. Then one day, she said "Hi, Knucklehead" and that was pretty much that. Now she's Knuckie, Knuck-Knuck, as well as Knucklehead.
