When we got Tiki we were thinking something along the lines of a lime and thought of tequila, but i shortened it to Tiki.
The night before we got Mojo we were at a casino and playing slots and Amanda was doing well on an Austin Powers slot machine so thats were it came from. Rosie and Kasey came with the names. |

Baba our baby sun conure was named after my brothers motorhome and my husbands friend's comment on the way down to Sante NC. The motorhome had been in for repairs before the trip and hadn't gone very far when it backfired with this huge flame!! Driving behind the motorhome Glenn responded "Back fire Baba Looie" after the cartoon Quick Draw McGraw. We laughed so hard that my Husband George and I decided that it was a perfect match. We call her Baba for short and I love it.
Moosie came with the name Moose and when we had her DNA sexed we changed it to Moosie. At the Pet Store they named her Moose because she had been mistreated at one of their stores. She was then transferred to another location and they were able to stop her aggressive behavour. She has turned out to be real sweet heart. The breeder's name for her was Sleena, meaning Peace.

Sunny - was Sonny (named after Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital) but turned out to be a girl. so Sunny! even though she's blue!
Peekaboo Sky - not sure what sex yet, but when I got him he'd hide under his food dish, then pop his head out real quick, like he was playing "peekaboo" did0 the same thing while I was holding him! and Sky at the end cause he looks like the sky peaking out! Tinkerbell the tiel was named since tiel's love to play with bells and I happen to love Tinkerbell the character! turns out Tink is a boy! oopss!! Calypso - My husband really wanted to name our 1st daughter this, but i just couldn't, so why not a colorful parrot!!! it was either Calypso or Coronna! (after the beer!) both sound sorta femine though. and I think he's a boy too!! oh well!

Well I've only had two birds in my life but my parents had budgies long before I was born. The only budgie they have pictures of was a blue male named Jasper. Not sure why he got that name but he was a cutie.
My first bird was a wonderful cockatiel and we named her Spike (for obvious reasons, lol) My bird now is a budgie and I named him Kai. It means ocean/water. I surf so I decided it was appropriate even if he isn't blue. |

Cheza was named by her breeder, but is now called Cheddar most of the time cos i think she might be a he. s/he also gets called "hijack" on occasion because when she started to fly she took a very long time to laern that "landing" wasnt the sam thing as "crashing into a wall and falling to the floor"

Poppy was named in memory of Paris (our TAG that died last fall). Inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields" and also Poppy seemed fitting with the red tail feathers of the greys.
In Flanders Fields By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918) Canadian Army IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
