When Sunny came I was waiting to have back surgury. Just as cute as a bug, and as sunny a disposition as could be... Sunny-Bug, and she's still a ray of light in my life.
Danny a sad little guy who knew a lot of pain before he found this home... became Danny-Boy, after the Harry Belefonte song of the same title. I still miss him, but he is forever in my heart.
Mr. Peabody, always wanting to know what is going on and how it works. That has NEVER changed!
Lacy because she reminded me of hand made lace. She added he own middle name... Lacy-lu
Jeremiah De Bullfrog... Who lives life like the song... Joy to the World! And he sings the song well!
Angel-Rose... my angel with feathers. She came with the name Angel, but there is a sheltie with the same name, and she has bloomed like the rose name she bears.
Sailor-Sally, so no one will get her confused with a guy again.

The day that I brought my baby home, he was riding in his traveler cage in the back seat regularly (at stop lights), I'd look back at him and say something sweet. Each time he'd cock his head to the side and his pupils would dilate. I then noticed that even without saying anything to him, if I just looked back at him, he was already observing me. He was so alert but because of that I called him nosey. He wanted to know everything that was going on and/or being said. You could tell by his actions and his eyes would tell it all. I figured that since nosey wouldn't be a good name, I'd call him Iris.

And Iris was his name oh....

Woodstock (woody)- came with the name. I think he was named after the peanuts character woodstock 'cause they are both little yellow birds.
Pip- After the little british boy on southpark that no one likes. I have no idea why I did this.
Bathtub - Was going to be named Towel at first. I just really wanted to give a bird the name of an object. He also likes to bathe frequently, but I didn't know that until after he was named.
Petri - After the pterodactyl from The Land Before Time. Just thought it was a cute name.
Crystal - I didn't name her, she came from an old friend.
Bork bork - well... he's a bourke's parakeet! It's what the swedish muppet used to say all the time. It kind of makes fun of swedish people.

I don't really like giving human names to pets, so all of my birds have weird names. Unless the human name is something really ridiculous and awesome.

Out current budgie's name, Millie, was picked by our daughter. Not sure where she came up with it.

Prior to that we had Yobir. He was a "yellow bird".

Way back we had Herkamer I, II, and III. I'm not sure where that name came from, but obviously it stuck through 3 budgies. I think the reason that name stuck, was Herk I dies, and was replaced by Herk II, with the hopes us kids wouldn't notice.

Cockatiels:

Little Man- Didn't like the name Puffin. Didn't quite seem to fit him.
Baby Girl-Didn't like the name Kramer. Called her Baby Girl all the way home
Charlie-came to me with the name
Louie-came to me with the name and it fits him
Lola-Perfect name for a bird that is quite the Diva(Louie's girlfriend)
Booger-Can't explain why. Just popped into my head.

Budgies:
Missy-Short for Artemis which is the name her previous owner gave her.
Peanut-Just thought it was a cute name for a budgie

Lovebirds:
Monkey-Was supposed to be Ariel, but upon watching him for a little while, decided that he acted like a monkey.
Peepers-Came to me with the name and it fits pretty well.

Beaker and Bunsen got their names from the muppet characters
I came up with beaker first because the little nightime beak grinding noise
reminded me of the meep meeep of the beaker character
and bunsen honeydew was really fitting because not only is he the color of a honeydew
mellon, but he is constantly putting poor beaker through it...
they have little spats once in a while and get each other in trouble
but in the end they really love each other and are best friends

I was originally going to name them Dallas and Sodapop like in the outsiders
but it just didn't fit them at all
