Well I just read the whole thread and to be honest, I can't see how you offended her. Your post was NOT offensive - she flew off the handle, with all due respect to her, dealing with a sick bird.

Please dont' take the EXCEPTION to the rule for the rule...

Also, Mirabella and I disagree about something - she said she can't compare baby birds to human children. Well, I guess you can't, as they are completely different, but the love some of us have for our bird is just as deep and important as that some people have for their children.

I know, Nina, that's exactly what I thought! There is one point when Smurfy says something very (to my mind) inoffensive abut the responsibility of taking care of birds. Then Mirabella flies off the handle and totally got offended, saying that Smurfy knows nothing about her situation, birds aren't children, etc. It's subtle, but it's there.

Has MsSmurfy EVER said anything antagonizing here? Isn't she the one we turn to when we need POSITIVE reinforcement? When one of us is upset, is she NOT the first on to step up and offer her blessing??? Heck, I WISH I could be as good and positive a person as she is! Lord knows I'd be a better person for it!
I mean no disrespect, Mirabella, but I think you are sadly mistaken in your judgement and attack of MsSmurfy. She really is a wonderful asset to this board and is really a wealth of information. She has a wonderfully caring heart....for people AS WELL AS birds. I can understand how sickness of a bird can cause un-do stress that is sometimes misplaced in agitation and anger, but in this case, I believe it was all just a misunderstanding of words.

well.....ive been in "cheese country" all damn week and just got back to read this!!!!!!! as if i wasn't already depressed enough about being in Wisconsin all week....YUCK!!! (i'd rather be in prison!).....Ms. Smurfy....you are one of us....i have to tell you that every time you post here I envy your positive outlook coupled with your love of life and your family (kid's, bird's, etc.) you always seem to bring a smile to my face......PLEASE! know that your contributions to this site are awesome and it would be more than a shame to lose you.....reconsider your leaving as we (the reg's) all look at you as our friend....PWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!

People (miabella).....please understand when you ask for help on this board we are only looking out for the best interests of your bird.....noone means any harm....as luck has it...we have a crew of brutally honest people here that live, eat, and breath BIRDS!!! and justifiably so as that is what this site is all about! please stop taking comments made by experienced bird loving people to heart as if maybe you would just listen to these people....your bird probably would'nt be in these predicament's in the first place....as far as i'm concerned (as a site moderator) FLAMING someone who is sincerely trying to help one another will not be tolorated!!!! grow up people....this happens to be a ********"BIRD"******** site.......and if you wan't "candy-coated" information.....take your business elsewhere!!!!
