I had knee surgery...

I've been having pains in my knee for about 4 months and I finally had knee surgery on Thursday. Turns out that there is a crack in one of my bones that would not show up on the MRI or X-Rays. So now I am on crutches for the next couple of weeks until I see the doc again. It's only been a few days but I'm already tired of sleeping - which happens a lot. Boredom would be slowing setting in if it wasnt' for Indy and my mom…

My mom has been out visiting so she has been a GREAT help!! I didn't realize how much I took for granted getting around on my own until now. Not only has mom been taking care of me but Indy also. Fixing us both meals, cleaning up after us, etc.

Indy has gotten use of her being here. He woke her up the other day by saying "Gramma, gramma, gramma" He is also sweet talking her by saying “Gramma Petty” and “Hey Baby!” And gramma loves it!

Since I can’t work, Indy has been getting my undivided attention (as well as gramma!). He has pick up a few other new words/sayings.. "Give me a kiss", "Tweet tweet" and "Tweety bird".

Thanks for letting me vent, time for a nap now!!

Very sorry about your knee,yes we do take some things for granted until its gone and we need it.That is so nice of your Mom to take care of you & Indy.I'm taking care of my Mom,she has Alzheimer,I miss her so much because it is not really her,thank God for your Mom and she is there for you. Try not to get to bored,Indy will be glad to have you more I'm sureWishing a speedy recovery...get well soon!

Hey Rachel, sorry to hear about your knee.I fractured my spine many years ago recovery sucks! I'ts nice you have Indy to keep you company.If your mom could pick up some cord and beads you could while away a few hours making Indy a few toys.Hope you feel better soon and watch out for those pain pills!

Yea a guy I play basketball blew out his knee and is getting a whole knee replacement... Poor guy just was playing bball with us guys and next thing you know he was down for the count... He goes in on tuesday for surgery...
