Thank you Kathleen, that was beautifully said.
We owe our freedom in the USA to those who fought for it. My husband is a Navy Vet. My Daddy was a WW2 Vet. Enlisted as an 18 year old kid, landed troops on D-Day as a war weary 22 year old. Many are gone, but should never be forgotten. Linda In CA |

A very well written post - thank you.
My husband is retired Navy, I spent 12 years in the Navy. As you said, there are some who don't agree with what is going on, however, it IS happening and we need to say a prayer for each and every one of them!

Thank you to all who serve! Thank you veterans and soldiers!
Today the aviary is offering discounted admission to veterans and active soldiers and police officers. And they can get their picture taken with one of our eagles for free.

![]() Thanks, from a service-connected disabled veteran (never learned to duck fast enough:-) ). Unfortunately many folks, here in the city in which I live, suffer from a completely unearned sense of entitlement. Having no idea of the sorts of sacrifices that were necessary to give them the freedoms they enjoy today, they react with disdain/disrespect toward anyone or anything that is evocative of respect for country, or service to nation. On more than one occasion I've had to give a little "wanna be" revolutionary a sound clout about the ears when they dared take umbrage at my lapel pin (crossed US & Israeli banners). Many of these folks seek any excuse to act as rabble in the streets, yet most cannot be bothered to register to vote, much less to actually vote. Nor, it seems do any of them aspire to political office. They seem to be nothing so much as perpetually petulant, spoiled children, needing a nap & a change of nappy. I sometimes despair the eventual fate of this society, when such as these become the majority demographic. But until that time, I will stand for the principles that I hold beneficial to all society. Perhaps as they age a bit, they may learn the value of service. |
