I'm gonna take a breather

Dear Flock:

I've been posting to this forum for about a year or so and I need a break. Lately, I just think we've gotten off track. I realize that this board is for everyone and I don't want to be a pain in the ass. I would like to say this for the record. I really think that some of you, myself included, have gotten a bit careless with safety when it comes to our birds. No matter whether we like it or not, we HAVE to be vigilant about our pets co-mingling, setting up pairs, feeding proper diets, providing the right cages and playgyms, etc. Its not something that we get to "tweak".

That having been said, I'm not the designated preacher nor do I care to be. I have my own forum for that. Rather than just become the bearer of bad news on a regular basis, I'm gonna say farewell for a while. I hope I'll be welcomed back at a later date, but if not, that's fine too.

I do hope you'll be there for each other BUT its NOT alright to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. At the end of the day, WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT WHICH WE TAME.

Sorry to hear you're leaving. You are definitely a mainstay here for good bird advice and a bastion of common sense.

I'm sure you'll be most welcomed whenever you decide to return.

I completely understand the need to take a breather, (I've done the same thing myself, from this board and others, from time to time) but I'm not sure I understand your reason. :?:
Did something specific happen?
Did someone specifically say something?

I guess I'm just a little confused and surprised is all....

Nancy, I am also sorry to have you go, as your expertise will be sorely missed. I can't think of anyone I would rather get advice from regarding my macaw - any chance of visiting your board? :)

I do understand you needing a breather though - especially with so many other responsibilities.

I'm so sorry to see you go, Outlaw. I can't say as I blame you. I don't jump in very often, but I get terribly upset when I see people making some really stupid mistakes and won't listen to reason and experience. I will go home and take double good care of my babies tonight in your honor!

Sure will miss your stories. I thank you so much for the advise and hand-holding you did when I first brought ElwoodBlue home.
This board really has changed since I first joined.......I hope we get more members, and maybe get back on track as far as advise and story swapping for the welfare of our birds!

Nancy, I do understand how sometimes you just need to get away from it all-that's why people take holidays. But I hope you come back soon-you do know that even us jokesters are very passionate about our love for our birds-that's why we are here in the first place! :) And since we all have that common bond I do feel that you are all my friends whether we meet in person or not! :)
