A weekend with Laurie and Nina

It was a VERY long drive from Miami to Pensacola, took me all day with 1 stop in Sarasota to meet Lynda and I had to pull into a rest area for a short nap as I was falling asleep at the wheel. Nina had organized a lovely BBQ and she and Laurie (and some of Nina's BF's police friends) were all anxiously awaiting my arrival. Nina sent one of her friends to meet me at the gas station to make sure I didn't get lost. After all, I had a VIQ on board-a Very Important Quaker!

Laurie and Nina were right there as I pulled into the driveway and at last I could hug my sisters! It was just like coming home! First things first. Young Miss Nevaeh had to be fed so we mixed up a batch of formula and I showed Laurie exactly what Joel had showed me the previous day about how to crop feed. Poor little Nevaeh tolerated being a guinea pig quite well. After she had eaten, we got to eat! Lots of burgers, salads and Fritos (a delicacy not found in Australia)! Oh and this really nice sweet wine, I think it is called Aspen Mist or something like that-Nina? After a few glasses of wine or beer, the convo got pretty wild!

We all slept in pretty late the next morning, then went to a really cute restaurant on the beach for a lovely brunch. Afterwards, we stopped into a bird shop and got to play with a Harlequin Macaw, Moluccan Cockatoo and this Amazon (blue front?) among other beautiful birds! Check out TooLover living up to her name!

Next stop was Tooville-Laurie's beautiful home. She has quite an impressive bird room and they are all spoiled with lots of toys!

First pic is her husband, David with Elwood and Tinkerbell-apparently they are Daddy's birds!

Then we have Laurie with Buck Buck-her pride and joy!

Next is me with Miss Cookie, then me with both Miss Cookie and Sassie. They were really sweet and cuddly-no fangs here!

Finally a close up of Miss Sassie because I thought she was just too pretty!
