When I get bored...
When I am on the ship that I work on (I am a merchant marine officer), I often have a bit of spare time, Which I often spend sketching... Miro often is used as subject matter- I think this is a pretty good likeness-
 8" x 9", Graphite on paper. Done from this photo-  I leave for 4 weeks at a time usually- And am happy to see him when I get back! -Andrew

Thanks for all the compliments... I will certainly be doing more parrot drawings in the next few weeks (get your requests in EARLY)- They are great practice. Lots of detail and various textures, which make for a challenge. I am still pretty much a beginner when it comes to Graphite.
If anyone has Hi-Res pics of parrots in particularly interesting poses (you know, those real 'character shots'), let me know- I am ALWAYS looking for reference material... -Andrew
