Sunny also reacted to the emergency broadcasting system alert. What a hoot!
The smokey air is worrying me that it might hurt Sunny. Trying to keep him in the house and turning fans on to keep the air circulated.
Also hoping all fellow So Cal members are doing alright.

We are surrounded by smoke -- my parents live about 2-3 miles from the fire and have a friend who's VERY close - but so far, their areas aren't evacuated. We are far away enough so just have the house ready to receive my friend/parents if they do need to leave their homes. the last I spoke to my friend, she was up-wind -- as long as the wind doesn't change directions, she felt ok.
I've had all my windows shut and my dogs are wondering why they didn't get their evening walk.

My cousin is in the San Diego area as well. I hope they manage okay. I guess he may move back east after this. His wife is such a wonderful person too.

We are in a voluntary evacuation area...North Tustin/Lemon Heights/Cowan Heights. The smoke from Irvine was very thick last night and the sky was bright orange. Some ash too.

Donna and I are staying home today to monitor the situation and gather personal papers etc. in case we have to leave.

Sydney knows something is going on..he's very vocal this morning and moving around his condo.

I'm near the so-called Ranch Fire. I've still got ashes in my eye from when I dared to walk to my car this morning. I had to relocate the birdie because the high winds whipped a lot of air into the house and it was smelling like someone was smoking in the house all day.

I'm not near the fires but have been watching it on TV all afternoon yesterday and this morning. They just said arson is suspected in the Orange/Irvine fire - set in three different places.

I am at friends place... helping them get out of dodge... due to the fires... also since last night I lost power and not sure when it will be back up... till then be careful and keep your radios on...

At this time it's threatening the Foothill Ranch area and people are evacuating.

Part of the problem is the lack of air support. According to the news, all aircraft are up in Malibu. I think, once things get back to normal, this decision will ignite a political fire storm and accusations of special treatment for all the movie stars and famous people living in the Malibu area.

We are keeping one eye on the TV and the other on the darkening sky.
