Umm the Malibu fire started much earlier than the Foothill Ranch fire did. I think to make it politcal is being petty.

I don't believe the residents of Irvine & area who have to evacuate and stand to lose their homes think it's "petty".

The TV stations made a big deal out of the fact that Sean Penn, Olivia Newton-John, Tanya Tucker, Dwight Yokum, Richard Gere, Robert Redford, Sting and numerous other "famous" folks have homes in Malibu that were in danger, and firefighters were doing everything to protect those homes (estates).

Just now the news said that there was no air suport for the San Diego or Arrowhead fires either.

Apparently 1 helicopter has now been "freed-up" for the Irvine blaze.


I know that if was me and I watched all the copters and fixed wing aircraft fighting to save stars homes whilst mine was in danger of burning due to lack of air support I'd be a little p***ed!

Please, I live in Irvine and evacuated. A fire is a fire. The TV stations don't put out fires, so who cares what they're saying? I don't know the intricacies of firefighting, but as a citizen, I certainly wouldn't expect firefighters to leave the fire they're fighting to go fight another just because people might think they're catering to celebrities. That's ridiculous.

Well apparently some people DO expect resources to be dispersed a little more equitably.

But, as the old saying goes.."It depends on whose ox is getting gored."

Well its gonna get worse over night as the winds always pick up at night just hope it doesn't spread or start other fires...
I guess they are giving two sky cranes a go and tryto get acouple hours in before the pilots lose visability.

LOL never heard of that saying before, but I get your drift. There's not much we can do about that, but I suppose out-of-state support is on its way.

I hope things don't spread too bad overnight. Someone told me the Lake Arrowhead fires are out of control right now, and madly consuming homes.

I hope your brother is okay Kevin, after fighting those fires.
