Yea he is fine, he sat down on the couch looking like he just got done rolling in the dirt and passed out in about 2 minutes flat... Prob wont wake up for a couple hours then he heads back to the front lines...

But you're right..not much we can do but hope for the best. You said that you had to evacuate... hope you're OK.

The news just announced that there are a thousand fire engines on their way to San Diego from across the region. There are three Cal Fire and several BLM tankers in the air here -- hard with all the wind. Eight or nine big fires; half of the folks in my department are evacuated,

And they are showing a cockatoo at QualComm Stadium (where they are evacuated) on the news!

Skip, Saucie, Jim, and Catschair, I see you're in CA (Sorry if I left anyone else out!), after reading this entire thread and I'm thinking about you all. Hope you and your families (flock included, of course!) are safe and out of harm's way.

I live in irvine too and was a total nut case all day long at work in Long beach cause the internet was broken at work. When I got home my roomie told me that the Santiage Canyon/Lake Forest fire was arsening. If this is true theys better catch those dumb asses before I do it

One of my friends who had to evacuate from Irvine was able to go back to her house - so that's a relief. We've only had to deal with ash and smoke where we live - my son got sick from the smoke, but once he came home from school, he felt better.

My dogs are going a big stir crazy because I've only let them out for potty breaks.
But I'm thankful that that's all I have had to deal with.

Just took these from my back porch. First picture is no zoom....through pic 3 on full zoom. This is (total guess) on the hill about 10-12 mi away. There is one a little closer, but we can't see it because it is on the other side of the hill.

Remember - these are long exposed due to it being dark... it's not quite this orange to the nekkid eye.
