So Cal Fires...

Well I just got back from uncles house... rounded up the horse and took him to another set of stables... I have a feeling the winds are going to create hell like they did several years back when the sky was orange and it was as if it was snowing but ashes...

Hopefully everyone here isnt too close to the current fires or hillsides with dry brush to burn... If you do, get them sprinklers going and get that weed wacker out and clear that brush!

Winds are so bad hitting gusts of 90mph, took a old couch that was suppose to be going to the dump at parents place and moved it clear across a 3rd of an acre... I am just hoping when i wake tommorow I wont have too many headaches and or bad phone calls in middle of the night from friends or family.

there are a few of our members out that way....very scarey!!!!!
this is what I was facing a few weeks after I moved into my new house....the fires were less then 3/4 miles away and we were evacuated.
everything was covered in Ash.....for days...you would clean stuff off, and then it would be covered again...guess once the fires were out, the winds still carried the ash.

hoping all goes well for our Ca members

Yep, Southern Cal is ablaze tonight. There are two big fires east of me (quite a ways); both have resulted in injuries. Good thing I got out of TO, since there are fires on all sides there -- air quality is going to be horrid. Hoping that is the worst of it, but am waiting to hear from friends, as well.

Bird related piece -- my fids have never heard that emergency broadcasting system alert noise before (with the volume turned up cuz the ball game was just over) -- took about 15 minutes to get everyone calmed down again.
