LOL Jessica,
At school they call my 15 year old son Bird Boy. If you are a girl that takes his fancy he will give you pretty feathers from our birds. In fact in middle school he was banned from bringing in feather bouquets because the girsl were fighting each other over them. Now in high school he is being more discreet in who he gives feathers to LOL

BTW yes my family and friends think I am as crazy as a loon

Not really, I've had them around me my entire life. My friends think I'm nuts for spending 600 bucks on cages though. I always bring up the fact that they spend 4-5 times that each year for cigarettes. Now who are the crazy ones?

The latest humour/joke in my grade, is how I "shower with birds". Sighhh, people just don't get those who actually care for their pets.

People in jr. high and high school can be soo cruel. But don't listen to a word they say. Be proud of who you are and what you love. It will make you a better and more interesting person. And I've learned one thing...everyone that was "popular" ends up fat and ugly just a couple of years after graduation. And thier lives are dull!

If you need support to give up the smoking, let me know. I have been diagnosed with asthma and have to give it up as well. I am cutting way back, but have not had the courage to completely give it all the way up! Maybe we can work on that together?!?!?!?!?
My co-workers call me the "parrot lady". They love it when I bring one of the babies into work. Yes, they are amazed at how much I spend on the fids, but they are all animal lovers so can relate on some level.

Well put. I think the older I get in life the more I enjoy being thought of as a bit crazy. So many people worry to much about fitting in when it is much more fun and liberating to just be unique :)

Well, my housmate thought I was obsessed too...but when I moved my fids in, and since I've brought Oscar home, he LOVES them too! He and Oscar watch t.v. and eat nuts....so he doesn't tell me how obsessed I am anymore.

My desk at work is ALL birds...5 framed pics of my birds, my bulletin board lined w/pics of my fids, Maccaw clock, little-sculpture, bird picture frames, parrot pen/pencil holder, even my lunch dishes at work have birds! Oh! and my coffee cup has a baby 'too on it and it says "don't bother me, I'm having a bad feather day!" My co-workers tease me about it, but they do admit the office "feels" a lot happier!
Even my wallpaper on my computer is of two amazons!
