Red face Timneh

Hi, I just joined tonight. While in search of information about why our Timneh is now drinking tons of water only to throw part of it up about 15 minutes later I found birdboard. He was eating extremely well and all of a sudden he slowed down. He has transition food, seed, pellets, dried fruits as well as a variety of other things. He is getting some fruits and veggies. We are trying to find out what he likes. Timmy was born Sept 4, 2005. Can anyone give me any ideas on why he might be acting like this? He used to sit at the top of his cage and just jabber away. He has not done that now in a few days. As we have only one avian vet in our area we are having a very tough time getting Timmy in. So, I need any help that anyone can give me until we can.

I know that other folks with TAGs have said theirs sometimes do the same thing. My TAG was 4 when I adopted her and never has done what you describe.

If the droppings look normal, I'd say she's probably fine. However, if her droppings change, I'd guess she has a bacterial infection. She'll need to see a vet for confirmation and medication.

My pionus was also born/hatched in September. I've had him for about a month now and he went through a period where his poops smelled and they didn't look normal so I brought him into the AV. He did have a bacteria which I treated and during the treatment he was drinking a ton of water and literally peeing all over the place. I was planning on bringing him back in to the vet for more tests when it completely stopped and he is back to normal. I hope that your Timmy is ok.
