Print Screen button help

Can somebody help me figure out how to use my Print screen button??!?!

It's on my laptop keyboard- it says prt sc, then there is a horizontal line dividing the key with sys rq below it. When I just push the key it does nothing. I've tried shift + pushing it, and control + pushing it. So far, no go....any ideas???

After you press Print Screen, you need to go into a photo editing software program, and then press "Ctrl + V" or 'paste' and the screen should pop up in a window of its own that you can then edit, save, etc.
