Bird Abbreviations

Since I've been on here, I have noticed a lot of abbreviations such U2, COG, etc.

I've looked around on this site to see if there is a list of abbreviations with what they mean. Is there one? If not, would someone mind posting the different abbreviations so dummies like me will know what people are talking about?

LOL... Your not a dumbie. I just asked a similar question within another thread. Here's what I know, have picked up, or have catched on to over the little bit of time that I've been here. At least, this is all that I can remember off the top of my head.

CAG: Congo African Grey
IRN: Indian Ring Neck
U2's: Umbrella Cockatoo
M2's: Moluccan Cockatoo
LS2's: Lesser Sulfur Cockatoo
B&G: Blue and Gold Macaw
RW: Red Wing Macaw
GW: Greenwing Macaw
Ekkie: Eclectus
VOS: Vosmaeri Eclectuses

Thanks, I'm going to save this out so I can refer to it. If anybody adds to it, I'll add it to my list so I can refer back. This reminds me of my ex husband who was a cop -- now the LAPD has acronyms for everything. Seems like the bird world does as well

I noticed there wasn't one for a severe macaw (which is what I have) ... SM -- just put an "&" inbetween and I can see why there's not an abbreviation for a severe macaw.

This is handy! I always have to sit and pause and figure out which bird folks are talking about as well. Everytime I see U2, I still think of Bono and his band rather than a cockatoo!!

CAG: Congo African Grey
TAG: Timneh African Grey
IRN: Indian Ring Neck
U2's: Umbrella Cockatoo
M2's: Moluccan Cockatoo
LS2's: Lesser Sulfur Cockatoo
B&G: Blue and Gold Macaw

GW: Greenwing Macaw
Ekkie: Eclectus
