Back home in NJ
Well, Florida survived my invasion and I survived florida!
I had a wonderful time, and LOVE the warm weather. Coming back home was a shock...87 degrees when I left Ft Lauderdale, and in the 40 when I landed in Philly. I rented a car, and ended up in Miami 3 times. First time was to visit Vizcaya castle(museum) and the Miami Orchid show, where I got to meet our very own Mike's(greahstone) wife Katrin. Second time was to go to Parrot jungle, with a friend I have been emailing for years, but never met. I had a wonderful time, and saw several rare breeds of parrots. Third was to go to South Beach. Had an ocean front rental unit that was to die for. It is truely a city that NEVER sleeps. I am also not really a shopper, however, I did a fair amount of that too! There were 2 downfalls to my trip. My nephew who is in a coma ended back in the hospital the day before I arrived. My mother ended up in the ER midweek because she was sick. But everyone is home now, and feeling better. I sneaked in to surprise the birds. Emma tried to threaten me at first with getting all fluffy and rocking back and fourth. Then she relized who I was and wanted to come out to feed me. She was the perfect girl for her daddy while I was away. Sydney was also happy to see me when he relized I was real. He did try to snap at me because he was mad, but quickly relized I dont play that. He did not fare as well while I was gone. He is 1/2 bald. He picked 1/2 his chest, both legs, and under both wings to his butt. Pulled all the red smaller feathers around his tail, and shreaded every tail feather left. Stirling saw me right away and started to say "come ere" it was the first time he was out of his cage since he severly bit George....and yes,,,,there is a scar. Ollie and Harley could care less if I was there or not. Bud and Puff, two of my three tiels were happy to see me too....they were pacing and screaming at 11pm. Everyone got tickles and belly kisses with the exception of Harley...he is not tolerant of that at all. So now George is fixin to leave for a few weeks to TX. they recovered a huey helicopter from his unit that crashed in Iraq. He is going to analize the reasons it went down. We saw the crash on Video the day after it went down and rolled. All crew were fine. Another note for today, St Patricks day, is that it starts my third decade of living with birds. 30 years ago today, My first Parakeet, Tweety, started me on my lifes journey. I was 8. Every day since then I have been blessed to share my life with alot of different species of birds. I have met alot of great people on this journey, and to all of you, a very Happy St Patricks day to you and yours!!!!

Lisa, I'm sorry we weren't able to get together while you were down here -- maybe next time things will work out that way. Anyway, I'm glad you had a good time and were able to thaw out a bit before returning to the Frozen Northland. Parrot Jungle is one place I want badly to visit but have never gotten there. One of these days ...
Sounds like things are pretty much okay on the home front. Isn't it a good feeling to see your fids again after being gone?
