bird tree

Hi all, well got the new floor for my "new" bird room! but I was wondering if anyone has put a real tree in there room or a fake one? I had put up fake ivy before and they stripped it bare and put leaves all over the floor(they thought it was funny!) how about bare branches in a container?what ideas do you have??

Cool 2 members have posted some cool ideas.

One of the members from 'down under' & I'm pretty sure it was sleeprsteve ..... Yes it was - Eddie's Jungle Gym - Ringnecks Forum, He cut some Grapefruit branches & put it in his home-made corner perch. It was great.

& another - George did it again, in the Cage Forum he gave his web page with photos of his fids - great pics - & they have a tree in their family room for their fids + lots of other stuff. Check out page 5 in the photos.

Maybe both will respond to this thread & give you more ideas.
& Other members have seriously cool gyms they bought. So the responces should be good.

It's not a good idea to hang fake plants around birds as they might ingest some of it... Instead, go with all natural safe branches! Birds enjoy stripping fresh branches and don't mind chewing on branches that have been dried out and cleaned up! With branches, you can let your mind go wild to the size and shape of it's overall design!

As you have a cute budgie - try out Dogwood! I used to use it for our finches & our budgie. It comes in a variety of reds & orange colours & will look great in the cage. Its not too thick, so a pair of hand pruning clippers would be enough to gather some - usually found near streams or scrub.
