Due to (a) being down with the flu, (b) absolutely nothing else being on and (c) possessed of the same type of curiousity that occasionally compels one to look at an accident site, I did watch it. *L* I, too, noticed the cage and then made effort to see what was in it. I believe it was a cockatiel. At the conclusion of the show, I decided that it must either be a deaf cockatiel or an extremely traumatized one.

Thoughout that broadcast, I kept wondering what could possibly (non)motivate parents to allow children to behave as theirs were behaving. I found it very shocking that not only do some people apparently allow their children to become so ill-mannered and undisciplined, but that they would allow their embarassing lack of parental skills to be nationally broadcast. Amazing.

Apparently I need to get my eyes checked! I watched so closely to determine what it was and I would have sworn it was a cockatiel!

I must be getting older than I thought I was.

Are you talking about The Nanny with Fran Dreschler? I love that show! Just the way she talks cracks me up! Don't recall seeing a bird, but then I may have missed an episode or 10.

No, it's a show like where a pro nanny comes in and shows the moms how to raise their little brats. (I think)

Oh, a new reality show, then? We will probably get it here next Feb, that's when they trot out the new season so we are always about 6 months behind the USA.

I didn't see the show, but I've seen some English budgies that were huge. Perhaps it was an English budgie.

All I can say is that that mother didn't need to have children. The father was at least willing to try out the suggestions, the mother just sat there and didn't do anything and was skeptical the whole time. Was anyone else appauled when they were all at the dinner table and the father was making an attempt to control the situation, asked his wife for help, and she said "no", that she was eating?!? Some people are just too selfish to have kids...she didn't even get upset until HER furniture got messed up, then all of a sudden she wanted to dicipline them!

Poor birdie :D
