Good timing on the shampoo trick Nancy! Ramone sticnks like the old man that he is! Actually it's kinda zooish! Whatever - that poor old guy's feathers are separated from grease. Tomorrow it will be bath extravaganza!

I suppose this does not hurt their eyes? I would be afraid to leave it on if I thought it would hurt their eyes at all. Have you tried this?

lmao at all the responses of what your bird smells like. A chicken, a musty deer?
So glad you posted this thread. I love sticking my nose in Rico's fluffy feathers and breathing deep. He smells like a little baby, kinda like baby powder. I love rubbing my nose on his beak, all nice and warm. I also love the smell of his breath. I told my husband this and he just thinks I'm weird.
Your right about the peanut breath. Love to smell his breath after eating a peanut. Smells like peanut butter.
I too like to give Rico raspberries on his stomach. He lays on his back with his little feet up in the air. He knows what I'm getting ready to do. His feet open, close, open, close until I do it. When I'm doing it they are open. When I stop, he looks at me like, "Come on, give me another"! open, close, open, close.
Just means we all love our little fids to death. Too cute!

Maya my blue fronted amazon, smells like fruit. Kinda like musty fruit loops! When she gets upset, you can smell her from a foot away!

When I first brought Allegra home the smell was offensive to me. But now I love it. I guess it just takes some getting used to.

mmmmmmmmmm Macawwwwwww..... LOVE the smell of Macaws, and Scarlets to me are the strongest of them. I often burry my nose into Tiki's back/neck feathers.

A clean bird is a good smelling bird, their natural smell is great.

I was giving Tiki a shower this past weekend and hubby comes around the corner - the house smells like wet bird! I shouted back, Better than wet dog!

I too am one of those that does not like perfume. I hold my breath while I go through the front of a department store, and refuse to shop at any that are really bad. I will tell someone that is wearing half a bottle that they can't really smell that bad to have to do so (hubby always gets upset at this, he thinks someone is going to shoot me one day). I don't think I even own a bottle of perfume..... and I've had a bottle of raspberry body spray that isn't used up and I've had it for 5 years. I think if I'd have to pick a scent that is my favorite of the smelly stuff.... it would be vanilla or raspberry (can't stand either if they are too fake or too strong though.) I did get a thing of soap as a gift that is flavored "brown sugar" I do like that one, it just smells like the kitchen while I'm baking and I love to bake!

It is amaziing to me how differently the species all smell too.

The only time I don't like it is after her bath - kinda just like a wet dog!
I agree too...how can a bird smell SOOOOO good when dry and stink so bad when wet!!! LOL Definite wet dog smell....but my cockatiel always smelled like cappuccino when dry...those were the days! But I think all my birds smelled great when dry. I thought I was the only weirdo to smell her birds! LOL
