United Animal Nations press release....
I am a member of United Animal Nations. Why? Because when I needed help raising funds for my sick African Grey Parrot, they gave me a lifeline grant to try to save his life. They do not care what type of pet you have, they are there to help. I donate back to them on a yearly basis,In memory Of Sampson Bell, because it is the only way I know how to thank them for helping me. UAN uses my donations to pass on lifeline grants to others that need help.
Other donations are used other ways that are specified. Here is an example of one. We have all types of Animal lovers here, so I thought I would pass this info on. UAN Press Releases UAN Issues Reward in Case of Shot Puppy Information sought about person who shot and abandoned Great Dane puppy in Hendry County, Florida SACRAMENTO (July 18, 2006) – United Animal Nations (UAN) today announced it is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever shot a Great Dane puppy through the nose, jaw, foot and groin and abandoned him by the side of the road near Clewiston, Florida in Hendry County. A volunteer with a local animal rescue group found the puppy and rushed him to an animal hospital where he received emergency surgery. Besides the gunshot wounds, the six-month-old puppy was unable to walk and was so emaciated that his bones protruded through his skin. The puppy, now named BJ, is recovering in foster care and waiting to be adopted. Anyone with information in this case is encouraged to call the Seminole Police Department at (863) 983-2285. “We are issuing this reward in hopes that the person who is responsible for this senseless act of cruelty can be caught and punished to the full extent of the law,” said UAN President and CEO Nicole Forsyth. “People who perpetrate crimes against animals are more likely to commit similar crimes against humans, so our society can no longer take acts of violence and cruelty toward animals lightly.” UAN is offering this reward through its Zig Zag Memorial Reward Fund, designed to encourage witnesses to step forward with information about animal cruelty crimes and to advocate the need for harsher punishments in such cases. The Zig Zag Memorial Reward is named for a Los Angeles dog who was burned, beaten and tortured for hours before dying, and whose assailants received scant punishment.

1987. the do alot of fantastic work, but as with other groups sometimes things seem extreme. However, I am forever grateful, and will remain so.
i found out about them in 2002, when I applied for help. I have mentioned the lifeline grant to a few people here who have taken in rescues that needed medical attention. here is a link. http://www.uan.org/about/uan_story.html
