I just thought of a few more:

Roller skates that you tighten with keys
Being allowed to ride my bike to school
Playing jacks
String games, where you make patterns with a string tied in a circle and transfer it to a friend
Slip N Slides!!!

Those were the days!

Those were the days!

How about vaccuum windshield wipers

6 volt car batteries

AM radios only in cars..no CDs, tapes

10 cent Sat. movie matinees..with cartoons, news, sing-along with the bouncing ball, yo-yo contests, freckle contests

Coke was a pop

G a y meant happy and carefree

78 rpm records

As Edith and Archie Bunker sang.."Those were the days my friend".

Wink Remember When...

8 tracks were the NEW thing in music...............

Still have and OLD stereo that has one ...really techincally behind times here....don't even own a DVD player yet

Over 200 vinal (sp?) records..... good working turntable with several extra new needles.... will eventually get reciever hooked to computer so I can copy/burn CDs. Records are mixture.... Big Band (Parents), classical (to sooth the savage beast in me), country (Jonny Cash, Tammy Wynett), and 50's thru 70's...even some Elvis

Now I have "Earth Angel " going thru what passed for my mind

OH YA!!!

We have an A&W close but it's in with some other outfit. No teen burgers..rootbeer comes in a paper cup rather than a frosty mug..yuck..and of course it's not a drive in.

Canadian A&Ws still have the teen burger, and mugs though..at least they did last fall in B.C.

Mmmmmm, we don't have them here, but I made a point of having a root beer float when we were in Thailand last month!
