It's amazing what ya find...

...when yer not lookin for it.
Earlier today my mom had taken off her wedding ring momentarily and it rolled off the back edge of her dresser.

When I moved the dresser for lookin for it, I found a big sheet of bristo-board jammed against the back.
When I took it off, lo & behold here were 3 of the best posters I'd done from 25 years ago. I thought my Dad had tossed them out years earlier (Dad never thought much of me drawing comic book characters.)

They've yellowed slightly & taken a bit of damage, but otherwise are still in good shape.
I'm glad they weren't destroyed - I think they turned out really well.
Since they're too large to scan, I took digipix of them.

If ya wanna check them out, I posted them in my album (2 of them ended up the Bird Art section too).

Marvel Comics X-Men Storm

Marvel Comics X-Men Jean Grey as the Phoenix

DC Comics - The Warlord

Now we need an Art Forum for sure! :clappurple:

20 yrs ago ........, do you think he privately really liked them but thought art was a poor career choice (we all struggle, except for the art-lottery winners). It would have been a shame to throw them out. What did your family say about the old drawings?

We certainly seem to have an impressive group of creative people here - I never thought i'd meet fellow artists when I went looking for bird info.

Thanks folks, I really appreciate it.

BTW, Homebird they're 26 years old....
Those three posters were done in the late summer/fall of 1980 while recovering from my first & second cases of food poisoning.
Yeah, you read that right... 2 cases of food poisoning in one summer.
Dang second string Military food (CDN Light Infantry Reserves).

How do I know it was their food and not something I got "off duty"?
Easy.
When the person beside you at "mess hall" finds a beetle that had eaten it's way under the skin of their chicken leg and then was cooked into it.....
that kinda gives ya a hint the food ya just ate ain't exactly top quality.

((That's when all my digestive troubles started.))

Good grief! I feel queasy ...
Is military training like that everywhere or is this just another case of incompetence (I suspect) ??
Glad that's 'behind' you....
You sure are full of surprising stories.
