Public Service Announcement-Shrink Pic Program
I stumbled on to this program the other day, and it's really neat. Right up front, I have no connection with the program or the publisher, and I don't get anything for plugging it! I just think its a really useful program for folks like us. It is freeware, and free of spyware too.
It's called "Shrink pic", and thats just what it does. This little program runs all the time in your system tray and uses very little resources. When you go to attach a picture to an email, or post a picture to a forum like this one, it automatically downsizes the pic. You can set it to reduce photos to 1024x768, 800x600, or 640x480. I think 800x600 is the default, which is what I use. Works on Windows 2000 and XP, and the following email programs/browsers: * Outlook * Outlook express * Thunderbird * Internet Explorer (versions 6 and 7)* * Firefox * Skype * MSN Messenger Prior to this, I used to have to save two copies of every photo, one original size for printing/archiving, and one reduced size for sending. This program eliminates the need to do that! Woot! I've been using it for a couple of days now, and it appears to work flawlessly. If you're interested, you can find it >here<
