Congrats hope ya get it. I know EXACTLY what you'll be going through. This is our fourth week in our new house. We actually had to rent a 20 yd dumpster to toss out the crap they left. Start collecting four leaf clovers. You'll need lots of luck, and patience. As long as you, and the hubby have lots of patience the house will be satisfying in the long run. Good luck.

I know the lady is going through a hard time. I dont mean to be hard on her if I sounded that way. It was clearly a case of her not caring about the house anymore. She was there when we looked, and she actually said she didnt care about it anymore, too much to be done, and she just wants to "get out". I think she is angry at her husband, (none of my business) and she doesnt want to do anything, and doesnt care if they kids write on the walls, or if you have to walk around broken glass. She said the kids broke the window 2 weeks ago.

Sometimes when people split, they let things go to crap thinking they are spiting the other partner.
I know alot of people do that, and infact, my EX did that to me, so I got less in the divorce.

and thanks again, everyone....ohhhh and it has 3 skylights! We checked for leakage, did not see any in the paint or sheetrock around it....The house is 2 story from the back.

Mike, I hear ya....thinkin we will have to do the same....

We are still waiting word on the sewer assesments.
See the problem is, you are charged by road frontage, and distance to the house for the sewers.(at least you were in the last house we were in, and sold JUST as the sewers were being hooked up) If you dont have th extra, say 20 grand to hook up they will put a lean on your house. You can make payment arrangements usually through the town with a program they make up, but you have something like 12 years to pay. Also, you then have to have your septic tank crushed and filled in, and inspected by the town. ITs kinda hard for anyone on a budget to be thrown this extra bill.....
You shoulda seen how many homes in my old neighborhood went up because of the sewers and the elderly couldnt afford to pay. Others were at thier mortgaged limit....
its sad....specially if you never had any problems with your septic system to begin with....

so hopefully, money will be held in escrow to pay the town if we get assesed, otherwise, its going to be a no go for us, because, your adding that much more money that needs to be invested, to make the house liveable. I hope the homeowner relizes this.....lukily, we've already been throught that selling our last house.....

We went today to make a contract on the house. Kinda eery considering the day, but in the same eery thought, I found the house I am now in, the day my dad passed on.
We will see what they come back to say, but here are some pictures.
