Think we found a house!
not at all what I was looking for, but I believe we will be placing a bid on monday. we have to go take a second look, and that will be done as soon as we can set it up.
the first house I liked, when we went to go see it ,again, was already under contract by someone who was paying cash for it...imagine that!!!(aint happening here!) so we had to start fresh. When looking online, I was not interested in the house. However, the size of it got me wondering about it, and being they didnt post pictures of the inside, made "us" want to go see it. When we arrived, I relized it was very close to the town I originally researched, and wanted to be in. Its on cul-de-sac, and less then 2 miles to the beach. now I know why, no pictures of the inside were posted. The woman who owns it is getting divorced, has 4 young boys, and 3 HUGE dogs. The house is structually sound, but cosmetically wrecked. It needs a GOOD scrubbing, fresh paint throughout, and most everything in the yard needs to be cut down. Her dogs ate through the sliding glass door frame. Her kids broke the front window(real fancy window) with a rock. The broken glass still lays on the porch. Her kids drew with crayon all over. Dog poop covers the yard. The wall paper in the bathrooms is falling down. It will need lots of elbow grease, but it has ALOT of potential. Im willing to do the work for the end result. the person who originally designed and built the house, did a beautiful job. Its got lots of room for our stuff....the rooms are all nice sizes. the garage was built for a boat, so George can have his workshop and storage out there, and yet, my car will fit! there is a great room built on with skylights. it measures 20x32. It overlooks a two teared deck and in ground pool. I commented that it was large enought to hold bird club meetings If I wanted to**LOL** George has lots of room for his fishtanks, entertainment center, and couch. I have pleanty of room for the birds, and even my mother! We need to find out who is responceable for the sewer fees since the town just put in sewers. That COULD be a large amount someone will have to pay.... and could make or break the deal. But I am excited!!!

Keep us posted, Lisa!
It's a shame that folks let their houses go to... well, let's just say that the word I'm thinking of rhymes with pit but that could work out in your favor! -e-

Sounds like the place has potential. My guess is that a woman raising four boys on her own, and having 3 big dogs, too, probably doesn't have the time or skill set to do her own repairs (and she's probably exhausted and feeling beat down in every possible way), AND probably can't afford to hire others to do her work for her. Don't be too hard on her unless you've walked a few miles in her shoes :-).
I hope this works out well for you, Lisa. The sweat equity you put into it will pay off when you have to pick up and move again. Keep us updated!

Thanks all....We're excited....
I know the lady is going through a hard time. I dont mean to be hard on her if I sounded that way. It was clearly a case of her not caring about the house anymore. She was there when we looked, and she actually said she didnt care about it anymore, too much to be done, and she just wants to "get out". I think she is angry at her husband, (none of my business) and she doesnt want to do anything, and doesnt care if they kids write on the walls, or if you have to walk around broken glass. She said the kids broke the window 2 weeks ago. ![]() Sometimes when people split, they let things go to crap thinking they are spiting the other partner. I know alot of people do that, and infact, my EX did that to me, so I got less in the divorce.
