6am and I just got a weird phone call --

I jumped out of bed to answer the phone. No one calls this early unless its an emergency!!!

They asked for my roommate *another shock because no one calls here for him* So I was assuming the worst as you can tell - he talked for about 15 minutes while I went nuts

He came out giving me a piece of paper with a address on it --- in Findly ohio. He is legally blind so I drive him where he needs to go, so he wont tell me why --- -but Im driving him there to pick up something IN a bird carrier.

I already got my Christmas bird, maybe he found one on his own I guess I will have more to tell when we get home from this long journey through Ohio LOL Wish us luck

AH --- were back FINALLY!!!

After driving almost 2 hours away one way -- running late for some date I didn't know I had! Getting stuck in traffic, yuckie day after Christmas re turner's LOL!

I ended up at pet land - They had a baby black headed caique & a female Ekkie. So I was pretty sure we were not there for either of them! We have a caique, and I don't want a female Ekkie * I have enough bull handedness for any family*

We were approached by a teen age boy & he asked if I was laura. He went on to tell me, how he had just gotten this bird - and he thought it was really cool. But that he didn't have enough time for it, like he had planned. So, he said he wanted to do the right thing by the bird & give it a good home ---- I was almost in tears because the boy had such a long sad face. I told him I was proud of him & I would help him place his bird with the "right home" and he told me that after talking to Brian, he thought I was the right home.!.!.!.. little did he know how full my hands really are right now --- but I just couldn't turn him down. So I begin talking to him more & more, His Dad is one of those buy your kids anything you can dads... and he had bought him this bird at the last year at a Cinci show for his birthday. The baby was only 8 weeks old, the dad learned how to hand feed on the spot to take this baby home. His dad said he handled the feeding's well, and thankfully said it took for EVER for the baby to stop begging *So it wasn't force weaned*

So, we went out to his car & I heard a hello. Opened the door, uncovered the carrier to spy a cute little GOFFINS Cockatoo!!!!!!!!! Sweet as a button, stepped right up, but you could tell how much he loved that teenage boy!!! They named her sophy to start, but later for what ever reason changed her name to Cocka *as in Cockatoo* - yes emergency name change is in order LOL! She loves to play, and loves to be held & snuggled & enjoys dancing :)

He/She is in a make shift QT room until Buddys results all come back in -- which should be in a week or less *I hope* then he can move into My bed room for a couple more but that lets "cocka" into a larger area!

oh my GOSH, what a good thing for the kid to step up and do what he did, and for you (even though your hands are full) to beable to take in a bird like that.

CONGRATS, by the way. If I was ever going to get a 'too, I'd get a goffins.
