6 days all to myself with the birds and dog!!!!
![]() Those of you with kids will know what I mean... I got to take actual hot baths, balance my checkbook, use the remote control, vacuumed & dusted & washed dishes AND IT STAYED THAT WAY!!!! ![]() I spent extra time with the fids (I'm off for winter break) and I sent my hubby & sons to Cali to go to Magic Mountain. ![]() I put pictures in frames, went where I wanted to go when I wanted to go there. I got to lounge around in my sweats, sleep in the middle of the bed, just relax and BREATHE! ![]() I spent time with friends and didn't have to be home to cook dinner. I LOVE my family with all my heart... but sometimes a gal needs to recharge her batteries ![]()

Flappucino,
OMG--I can sooooo relate to your post! All those things you said--I'm so jealous! Actually, since my hubby and I got divorced we share custody. That means twice a month I get FOUR DAYS in a row KID FREE!!! I never knew such luxury existed! I mean, I'm working part time and have 10 birds, two dogs, and six aquariums, so it's not like I sit around and watch soaps. I usually spend my time cleaning and caretaking if I'm not working. But oh my goodness--to be able to work my butt off to clean the house and actually have it STAY THAT WAY--it's heaven. And not having someone call out "mommy" every 3 minutes is relaxing in itself. I adore my children too and would be lost without them. But gosh are they draining! |

My gift seems to be along the same lines as the last few posts....my husband and my best friend's husband bought us a girls' cruise! It's not until April, but I already can't wait. I don't have kids, but my husband broke his leg about 9 months ago in a 'stupid' accident that could have totally been avoided. We're going to be having the 6th surgery sometime in January and this is supposed to be the last. (It's a really bad break!) Don't get me wrong, I love my husand to death, and we're very thankful that all he had was a broken leg/ankle, but at the same time, I was used to him being gone for weeks at a time for work. Now that he's home all the time, I feel totally overwhelmed alot and have found myself working many extra hours just to get away from the house. So I'm really looking forward to the cruise. My friend has three kids, whom she loves very much as well. But I think we both need a short break from 'life.' It's just going to be us girls and we're going to have a blast!!!

I'm so glad I dont have children. I would end up on the 10pm news.
Anyway...I got an iPod Touch, a beautiful Boa Constrictor, gift card to Sephora, a gift certificate to a local tattoo parlor [I'm getting several tats this summer], & a freakin HUGE macaw cage for when I bring home my gw. |

I got a beautiful baby girl on 11/15. She is amazing. We were all set to go to Fla to be with family for Christmas, and BAM. I was lucky enough to have emergency surgery on 12.20. So, I had not one gift to open for Christmas (we were going shopping when we got down there as not to have too much to travel with...)
My christmas was wonderful....I had DH, Tiko and my new little baby with me, which was all that mattered. Have a great new year everyone!!
