Lucky you...you get to eat a ton of candy. Lol. Back when I was a little kid, I always got a ton of candy, but now there's less kids trick-or-treating, so there's less candy...but at least I get to have some sugar! Lol.

Talking Trick or Treat..

Don't get many trick or treaters here... in woods... neighbors are ascared/leary of strange woman who lives here ... having bulldogs don't help...

Have a couple of stumps waiting... will be drilling holes and puttin 2 liter bottles (unside down) full of desil on for a a couple of days (several a day) ahead of time.... light stumps around noon... put hogwire cages around.... by dark thirty.... smolterin and glowin pits..... makes yard look like something from Dantes Inferno... do this every year... wonder why I don't get any/many trick or treaters.... bf scarfs all the candy (excecpt for the few brave trick or treaters that make it to front firepit... halfway between house and road)..and has fun wondering the yard with his very curly,red/gray waist length when wet hair loose (extra large fro) and he has this long beard that he fluffs out big... with front firepit goin.... looks like resident demon... a couple of good friends always stop by... just to enjoy the show/atmosphere and have a good laugh.....

Dustin would feel right at home...

Normal stuff around here....

I know what you mean. I remember when I was little you could trick or treat anyone you wanted & get any kind of candy, even homemade ones. Now you have to be so careful & inspect all of the candy you get cause you just don't know. There's so many scary people out there & you can't tell who they are!!

But on the other hand, Halloween was one of my mom's favorite holidays. Man she would go nuts decorating. One of the houses we lived in had iron posts on the front porch to hold up the roof; they were about 5 -6 feet apart. She would take black yarn & spin her own web in between 2 of those posts. Then she would take a large spider & hang it on the web. Man, it was so cool. I'll have to find a picture of it & post it, she did a really good job of it. I wish I had inherited even just 1/4 of the crafty talent she had. I'm starting with the green thumb issue (mine's mostly a dark greenish-black! ), but what I could do if I had the crafty part.....

Thank you all very much.
I love hearing how everyone is gonna celebrate my birthday.

It was awesome when I was a kid. I mean, presents and tons of candy- all in one day.
If that isn't every preteen's idea of heaven, I don't know what is.

....and anybody who made fun of me for my birthdate, ended up spending the rest of the evening as a newt.
Being born on a day of high magics does have it's advantages.

As to what I'm doin - opening my gifts, then taking my daughter trick or treatin.

I know about that...every year I go through every piece of candy...at least every year there's less to check. And I don't think I have to make sure the Wendy's coupons from the people where I used to live...lol. (They give out coupons for burger king, wendy's, and places like that) Unfortunately, I want to take a long time checking candy because that means you have a lot, and there's not much to check now. Oh well, what are you going to do...people that do those kinds of things will always be around now, and there's not much we can do to stop it. At least I go trick-or-treating where the people are nice and have kids of their own and know what it's like for the kids and parents out there. (knock on wood...I don't want that to stop)

For those who are decorating their house, it would be nice if we could see pictures! I love to see what some people's houses look like on Halloween. Like this one person where I go trick or treating, they go crazy with their house! (surprisingly...she's a teacher at the elementary school I went to which is like right across the street from where I used to live and where I go trick or treating)

Lisa, Sydney's costume is too cute for words! I love it! ^_^
