Jersey shore people

I was down roaming around my new home today, and was at Berkeley Island county park, which is right behind my new house. I saw a seagull there that (Yes, I would have cought it I could have, He wouldnt let me come with in 4 feet of him)...had a broken wing. I called Popcorn Park zoo hoping they could send me in the correct direction to get this bird help. They told me to call Berkeley police, which I did. They will let animal control know tomrrow. This gull isnt going to survive without help. Is there any other avian rehabs in the area I can call?
Is anyone else in the area that can check to see if he's been captured? He cant fly. He's contained in the park. He's a HUGE brown speckled gull.

Sadly, none of those are near Berkeley. I believe you'll need Ocean or Monmouth County officials.

Will Popcorn Park go out to rescue? I thought they only received intakes?

Hear from anyone Lisa?

I don't know of any wildlife rehabbers around here. A student brought me a tiny chickadee last spring that I didn't know what to do with. My vet's office only had the number for the person in Lawrenceville, I believe.

You may want to try getting in touch with Wings of Hope. They don't take in wild birds but they may know of someone else around here that I don't.

Thanks everyone...I willl follow up tomorrow with the animal control and call a few more once I find out if they went to get him today.
Oddly enough Lawrenceville and Hopewell are the next towns where I live NOW!

Giselle from wantage (sussex county)is the woman I often talk of here about rehabs.....She's great and so is her facility! maybe I'll give her a call too...

I once saw a Canadian Goose with a broken leg walking on Ocean Avenue (the main drag along the beach) in Bradley Beach. I called 10 different places and they all said to just leave it be and nature will take its course; that the bird had a better chance being left in the wild. Nobody would come out :(
