I almost cried when I saw this on the news. This is the FOURTH school shooting in two weeks. I just don't understand people and I'm afraid I never will. Those people don't bother anyone and keep to themselves, and he killed them. Sicko..I'm glad he's dead. It may seem mean to say but it's true, we don't need sickos like that in the world.

the update story just makes me sick to my stomache. i really dont know of a direct link to this update but the ap news is where i found it. it is under the headline of gunman admitted to sexual assualt on relatives. after reading that story i am very thankful and happy that the police just barged in when they did and not give into his demand of leaving. he was one sick and demented thing.

Unfortunately, the greatness of the human mind can be used in many different ways - most of them are nice and enjoyable, others are on the other end of the spectrum.
To make the thing worse - I don't think humanity will ever figure it out as a whole. Some people will, others won't.

My heart is full of admiration, love and respect for these gentle people. I was reading an article in the paper today that just brought tears to my eyes. It explained that they (the Amish community) have embraced the family of the killer, comforting them in their time of trouble. They urge forgiveness for his acts. They stand firm in the belief that their children have gone to heaven and they will be reunited someday, and that whatever happens is God's will.

There is a small Amish community a couple of towns over from here, and I have personally witnessed their kindness, fairness and hard working principles. You could not ask for better neighbors. Even as their hearts must be breaking, their beliefs and actions speak volumes, and stand in stark contrast to many so called "religious" philosophies.
