i've been listening about the amish shooting. this morning more of the story came out on the today show. greif is beyond words. those children are in emotional stress. the gunman had let all the pregent women and mothers and all the boys out. but kept 10 girls from 5-13yo. but before he let some go he had the boys carry in lumber, knifes, guns, and other supplies. then he proceeded to put the plastic zip ties around the girls legs and had them stand face forward to the black board and told the girls that he wouldn't hurt them. but when the cops came. he told the back off. then they heard the rapid gunfire. when the police stormed the school they had found all the girls shot exucution stlye in the head. as of this morning 6 of the girls are dead.

I cried when I heard this yesterday. Why are people so cruel? I will pray for the Amish. I think they are special and there needs to be more of them.

He sounded quite derranged - I am so sorry for the families. I worry when my son goes out every day, but what can you do if the odds are against you?

My prayers are with those families and their community. I had the privileage of meeting some Amish families 2 years ago, they are extrodinary in their beliefs and they are so passionate about their beliefs. I can not understand why this happened their or anywhere for that matter. Our children are so precious and yet some take them for granted, take their madness out on them. I sickens me to think that our society has this, our children cant feel safe after hearing about 3 incidents in a week.
We hug our children alittle tighter, we give an extra kiss as they head out to school and we pray for their safe return.

After such a crime, that seems like quite an oxymoron....
IMO, there's not much humanity there,
And as for a mind - it was obviously an obsessed, severely twisted & depressed one.

I know first hand how hard it is to get over being abused when you're young -regardless of flavour (physical, mental or sexual).
Just as in the creation of diamonds or a gravitational singularity, 20 years of silence can create incredible pressure that compress the hurts into a black hole that consumes the rest of the soul.
If ya can't take & want to end it, do yerself- period.
That way the only ones ya owe the explaination to is the Creator & you're own family.

I'm trying real hard here not to flame the dead, but AFAIC, killin a bunch of innocent kids isn't just an exapmle of a LAME & weak mentality, it's EVIL pure & simple.

I didn't hear about this. My best friend of over 30 years is Amish (in a complex kind of way, as her mother left the "fold" and was banned or something like that--but she was still raised as Amish in many ways), and most of her family still resides over there. I pray for the whole community in general, and for my best friend, Mary, in particular, in case some of her relatives were affected. She is on vacation, so I don't have an opportunity to speak with her right now....

I've said it before, and I'll say it again--God help us if we really WERE created in His image, considering how evil and hateful so many people seem to be.......
