What a diverse group - I have loved reading about everybody.
I'm an RN and have worked in critical care most of the time. I worked at a gaol (as an RN) for about 3 years and really enjoyed it, but now work close to home at the local hospital. I still really enjoy my work, after about 20 years that's a miracle I think!!! I live on a small farm in nsw and am personal chef and groomer to 3 maremma dogs (great way to keep away those wretched foxes from my baby goats Melanie) and a miniature schnauzer who is really human but trapped in a dog's body. I also breed cashmere goats and also have a beautiful saanen goat who thinks she runs the whole show! Last but not least my gcc Cisco - bossy, spoilt, little dude, but lovable too. 1 husband. 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren - all beautiful people. I have a great life and consider myself pretty lucky. |

I'm a project manager for one of the major wireless companies. The nice thing about the job is that the company allows me to work from my home office. Most non-customer-facing positions in the company work from home. This saves the company cost related to office space. I usually have to travel to the corparate office once or twice a quarter. I also raise cattle, have several rental properties in the area and manage a 1200 acre land trust. My fid stays with me most of the day.
My wife works for the school system in the IT department. We have 2 boys (4 and 7), a little girl (8 mos), our CAG (Platinum), a golden retriever (Jake), and a chocolate lab (Sidney). |

what does everyone do for a liveing
Nothing to exciting here I started working from as long as I can remember I grew up on a farm and I started for a weekley allowance forget how much but I got to clean Horse poop, Cow Poop, and lets not leave out the hog poop, and when that was done I got to go pick up the dog poop out of the yard. Thinking about them days thank God for senior citizen moments. Then at the age of 12 the vet we went to knew my love for animals and lol I asked for a job and being I went to a procial school not far away and in walking distance he hired me and being I was not old enough to work he hired me as a helper lol. Boy I could not wait for Mon all I could think of holding all these sweet dogs cats and any that neede love and on my way there I could stop at this pet shop where they had lots of birds but the 2 I wanted where the pet shop birds and not for sale But mu plan was to save a buy 2 just like them.Mon came and I am all excited could not wait to go to work. Well I got there and I was handed a apron rubber gloves a bucket and a spray hose oh no back to cleaning poop but I stuck with it and saved all of my money from there and the farm. Then my younger brother got real sick and they sold the farm and we moved to town
Off to boarding he went and then after I got hurt on him a few times my dad wanted him cut and I threw a fit his spiret is what I loved about him so my dad sold him. So I kept working saveing all I could for the birds and then I was out of school and got marrieid oh I still worked for the vet and had planed to go to prudu to become a vet but I passed out during surgery so I setteled with what I did and then I had a son They even set up a nursery for him at the vets then hubby got drafted and I moved to Germany for close to 2 years and when I came back the vet had passed so I opened my own grooming place well thing went good and he could not find work after he came home and things got bad so we moved and I just worked part time little jobs and raised my son and we bought a small dairy and worked day and night for little to nothing then Marc was old enough to go on his own so lol left hubby and started driveing a semi got me a nice place and plenty to live on but was working myself to death I am paying for it now. In 2000 I was injured and went on Disability and now I spend my days with the birds lol and I have had birds all my life and I did get my dream birds back in 1979 I think still have them and lots more. ![]() Babyblue |

I am also a teacher but in high school. Sometimes I bring my bird to school. The kids love it. I just have to be careful not to let them touvh him. They are pretty good about it. Also if you are specding that much time at school, you need to do something. What I can't get done in the 7 hrs I am here, I do the next day. teaching should not be a chore. If it is you are doing something wrong. The time I set aside for my family belongs to them and my pets. Forget school when you come home. Good luck LL

My youngest kiddo has multiple disabilities, and has been having a rough time health wise the last couple of years. So he is a home school kiddo now. We spend our days running to the children's library, therapy, horseback riding, and anything else he enjoys. I also watch two baby girls with disabilities during the week.
In the little free time I have I spend on the fids Just reading this I need a nap!

Wow, it is interesting to see what everyone does. and Congrats Zippy a bit late.
I was a nail tech for about 20 years, working in a family owned salon. I followed with continuing education and became a make up artist, with my own business. Then we got a transfer with my husbands job(the Army) and went to work as an Admin assistant for a friend. I did not care for the salon settings coming from my own place to low man on the totem poll. The area we were in, there were very snooty people, and I couldnt deal with that since I had the same clients for nearly 20 years and they were like family. I quit doing nails all together, and certainly wasnt interested in doing make up in that area either. After yet another transfer with the Army, we have now settled and I am not going anywhere. I just love it here. The only drawback, no where to get parrot supplies. Local stores dont carry parrot supplies, and well the nearest store is cross state. So, I am using all my lifes experiences, including 32 years with all species of birds, and am opening a Specialty Parrot Supply Shoppe. I will not tho, be selling birds. Too many are already in need of good homes.I was hesitant to say anything due to some spiteful people I have dealt with in the past from the net, but I am not catering to them, but the locals...so I dont need to deal with them at all!

I am a full-time Kindergarten teaching assistant at an urban school. I'm also a full-time graduate student. Once a month, I have a life crisis because I truly have no idea what I want to be when I "grow up."
I'm getting married next June, so I'm also planning a wedding. I'll be moving as well, so I'm trying to find a place to live as well as get an idea as to where I'll try and teach. Someday I'd like to build a beautiful aviary for my birds and perhaps become a hobby breeder. :) Everyone is so interesting!
