I have to brag on my Kiddo...She made homecoming court

Ok I have to brag on my kiddo. She made homecoming court. If there was ever a kid that deserved it, it was her. She is the kind of daughter that makes being a mother a true pleasure. I'd swear she was an angel God sent here so I could bear the pain my oldest daughter gives me.

She makes straight A's, keeps a job, does what she is suppose to, don't do what she is not suppose to. Never lies, would give you the shirt off her back and the big one "SHE is STILL an Virgin at 17" and wants to get married that way!!!!! Everyone loves her.

We found out last year she was insulin resistance, which is like the opposite of being diabetic. Diabetic don't make enough insulin and her body over produces it. Which means she still had to take diabetic med's for the rest of her life. Her weight gain was unheard of and that in itself is horrible on a young girl. But since we found this out she has lost over a 100 pounds on medication for her insulin and we have a long way to go, but she has been a true trooper. Never once complained!!!!

It's her values and she is proud of it too. She wears a "True Love Waits" ring on her ring finger. As do ALL of her friends, both male and female. In todays worldit is not an easy thing to wait nor is it popular, just say we are backwards and old fashion and thats OK with me, call it our down home southern christian ways.

It is definantly more than ok to wait, it's a very personal decision and she should be very proud of herself and you of her. I definantly don't think it's an oldfashioned or backwards or bad way to live, I think its a beautiful and wonderful sentiment.

It was just that it was mentioned as the "the big one [brag]" when shes obviously very smart and well rounded otherwise. I really didn't mean to offend, although I can see how it would have come across as much. I guess I was just a bit offended that it was implied that virginity was something to be on a higher plane as grades or good character or fun, loving personality.

You obviously love your daughter a wonderful amount and I already commented on how great your relationship seemed to be and how proud you should be of that so please don't take the above comment the wrong way.

I do appologize it wasn't right of me to comment in the first place, sometimes I have a very hard time keeping my big fat mouth shut. It is none of my buisness, I merely responded to explain more of what I had meant.
