My cherry head, Noel, eats a cockatiel seed mix (no sunflowers), with fresh foods.

Charlie, the mitred, eats Zupreem pellets, a bit of handfeeding formula (he's an adult with beak injury), and fresh foods!

Although both will eat just about anything, Charlie's the one who is more likely to be upfront and take it as he pleases from where-ever, where-as Noel would rather 'eat alone', so to speak...

My GCC eats various pellets as well as fresh fruits/veggies.

He isn't very loud, but loves to be with me. As a matter of fact, he's preening my hair as I type this. He just had a good head scratch and is now returning the favor lol.

Over all, they are great birds. How old is your maroon belly? If they are anything like the GCC, then he will go through a nippy stage at right around 1 year old. But they will get over it sooner or later.

hi jeff, i've been told that it's a year old and that they will handle it for about 3 wks before i can take it home, which i can't wait, it looks like a beauty and is a bit quieter than the other two that are in the cage with him.....thanks for the info as i know that i will need all the help that i can get from all the people here on this bird talk as it seems to be really good and the people are really friendly ...thanks again and i hope to here anymore tips that you might have
