Sprouts in sink?

My bird room is right next to the spare bathroom, so I wash and refill the birds' water bowls in the sink in there. I try to make sure that all of the seeds are out of the bowl before dumping them, however, I have obviously missed some :oops: This morning I noticed sprouts growing out of the drain! I tried to pull the stopper-thingy out and it appears to be root-bound. The sink is also leaking underneath :shock:

lol! Boiling water, and or vingar should kill the sprouts Laurie.

I purchased drain screens in walmart to put ovr my drains where I dump the birds water. It works like a charm. Bird seeds play hell on the plumbing system.
