Happy Easter!

I hope everyone (by now) has had a great Easter with their family!

I had to work, but some of the girls there gave me jelly beans. It's just like candy corn... I can only eat them once a year! So I've been removing the black ones as I've been reading, and enjoying the nearly 75+ degree weather we're having today.

My babies are happy too, as they have been able to be out on the back deck enjoying the warmth and sun. Archer whistled at a boy who ran by downstairs yelling after his sister. The boy was puzzled, as he couldn't figure out who was whistling at him. I guess this was a time to be thankful that Archer has NOT learned to wolf whistle!

I can imagine you're glad it's over with! When I used to go to my family's get togethers for holidays, there were kids running around everywhere, and adults talking badly about other members of my family... not too much fun. Almost makes me glad my mom and her parents live in AZ... :?

I do miss seeing my cousins though. I hear one of them got married recently too. Too bad she lives in OH! *sigh* oh well.

My Easter was sad because I found a freshly killed Black-MASKED love-bird, green/yellow variety, below one of my outdoor flights Easter morning about 11am. Must have escaped from someone's flock and was probably eating some food on the ground in my yard attracted by the chirping of my 8 love-birds (I guess). Anyway a cat was standing above it, not sure if this particular cat was the killer or maybe she just stumbled upon it as there are many neighborhood cats roaming the area. Very sad :( , that poor bird had the whole sky to fly around in and freedom was his temporary Easter gift but turned out to be his end in life. Was a wound on the back of one wing with no other apparent damage so I'm not sure the exact cause of death : either bacteria, shock, suffocation, heart attack etc......Didn't seem to have much or any blood loss. Eyes were still wide open and clear so must have happened soon before I found it. I wish I had not gone out the night before & then I may have been up earlier tending to the birds and probably would have caught him before the cat did. Notice how we bird lovers seem to always blame ourselves for what could have been, at least I always seem to.........Still choked up over here :( ......

Happy Belated Easter

Happy Belated Easter Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is indeed sad joel, that poor lovie :( I too, found a dead animal... A shrew, poor lil guy... There wasn't any ovious wounds, so I'm thinking it may have been a heart attack, as the lil guys as I've heard aren't all that hardy :(

Have a good day everyone,
Steven
