Another reason to buy human grade foods for our birds!

I'm so annoyed with my birds. All of them. I bought two pounds of dehydrated blueberries ($8/pound!) with plans to add them to my fresh food mix or throw a couple into their seed/pellet bowls.

Guess what? No one will touch them after offering them for several days.

So now the bag is sitting on my desk, next to the computer, as I type this message. Guess who IS eating them? Sheesh.

Gotta love the fids! I hate that too...go out, get something that is good for them, think "Oh, they will love this", just for them to turn up their beaks...or better yet, pick it up and throw it on the floor

I"m going to keep trying. Maybe reconstitute them. Maybe add them to birdie bread. Maybe dye them green. Maybe just eat them myself and never offer them blueberries again.

Hey those blueberries... make your birdies some pancakes! My fids love 'em! Cook them (no butter or milk) put in the blueberries during cooking and feed them up. You may find your fids love 'em more than you!

That's what I was thinking, PowerBBS. But just in case, I bought some vanilla yoghurt (for me) in which to add some blueberries. It's one of the healthiest foods on the face of the earth! I can't let it go to waste.

Could you try smearing the thinnest, THINNEST layer of peanut butter on them? They would hopefully start munching and realize that the "blue thing under my nummy brown goo is quite yummy"

But yeah, owning parrots is all about wasting food, lol

I"m not a big fan of peanuts or peanut butter for my birds. But the key is to be more creative than THEY are! I'm still thinking and I'm still taking suggestions!
