How sad if this great place folds!!!!

I am as bad as a lot of people for not doing more!!!!!!!!!
Dave and Donna have been trying to hold this place together it seems so where are you Jason???
We want this Board to survive and we need this board to survive.
If you are around anyone please see if we can coax Jason and Dave and Donna to give it another go.
We can all help but can everyone please register and contribute NOW or it will all be too late.

Jim, Dave and I have discussed this many times and we are not giving up on this board but it takes the site owner (Jason) to at least do his part in obtaining new members and keeping the board running. Every time Jason has come on and posted it was to tell us he is very busy and can not come visit. Lame excuse if you ask me. We all have other jobs and things going on in our lives but always find the time to come to the board and spend some time. It is sad, this board has some great information and a lot of good people I'd hate to see it all fold. Not much we can do if he decides to take it off the net.

I don't know who told you that about yourself but you're wrong. There's nothing you could've done. Donna and I spent plenty of time here trying to run this board in a happy way. People just decided to leave. I have a feeling that it's where those people originally came from in the first place. I wouldn't call them reliable. Jason hasn't been around in months. I'm not gonna PM or Email him anymore. I'm really not in the mood. I've lost my enthusiasm. Boards go down the tubes for a wide variety of reasons. Who knows what happened here? I don't think it was Donna or myself that had anything to do with it. We weren't strict. We didn't delete posts of people. We came here and tried to answer and connect with as many people as we could but they left anyway.We added many areas on this board just to make people happy. Many people came to this board just to take advantage and get away with things. So, that's the story in a nut shell------Dave

I hope you did not think I meant my presence would help a lot Dave. just I meant I thought to be perfectly honest this Board was terrific Jason and yourself and Donna would always be here for us. You and Donna have done a sterling job and would be really grouse if you could take it over? if Jason has lost interest?

BTW where is your logo? I keep looking for it.

I won that contest many months ago although I really wasn't concerned about who won it BUT in order for any new logo to be put in, it has to be done by the site owner but if the site owner isn't here anymore nothing can be done.I only submitted logos in order to get other people interested in doing it. It didn't happen though.

You being or not being here more and contributing more has nothing to do with the situation here.
Remember that I know you live in AU and because of time differences, I also know that many people from other countries can't be here as much as people from this country. Don't blame yourself in any way. You did nothing wrong. As a matter of fact, you sound like one of the loyal members-------Dave

I am still here from time to time, but I feel that this site has failed. I have spent hours, upon hours trying to get people to visit. Taking my family time away from my wife and children. Spending money I don't have to keep it running. I gave away prizes that were paid for out of my pocket. I paid to keep the site running, even though few came out of my pocket. I had a store once, that other sites made mockery of. The store was meant to support the site, so it was not out of pocket. The store sold ONE, and only ONE item. I made a total of about $9.00 from the purchase. I then got rid of the store, and added a donation feature in hopes that maybe that would get it to support itself. The site costs about $30.00 every three months to keep up and running, as well as a once a year fee to renew the domain name. The only time the site was "thriving" was when I had the photo contests where most wanted something for nothing, and when I spent HOURS advertising. There are a select few, who have been great assets to the site,.. But the majority of members, would come and go.. I too feel that there is a lot of information on this site, and it would be a shame if it was lost. I feel that the "guests" we see on here everyday are using this information, even though they do not log in, or register. I am just tired of kicking a dead horse. I still feel that my previous moderator was the reason the board never took off. He gave our forum a bad name to all the regulars at other sites. Those regulars, is what would have been our "regular" member base, and I feel things would have worked out different. I am out of ideas, and as I have stated before, I have been busy with a new business I have started. The company I work for full time, (Interstate Brands) Is in bankruptcy, and it looks like my days are numbered... so I have been getting all my ducks in a row, so when it folds, I have a backup income. The unfortunate side of this however, is I am working all the time. I work third shift here at IBC (where I am at the moment), the get off work, go home to get a little sleep (about 8:00am), sleep until about 3:00pm and go to work for my handyman business until about 8:00pm, then I go home, grab a cold plate of whatever was for dinner, take a shower, and return to IBC. My days off are usually spent finishing jobs I have started through the week with the handyman service, and spending time with my family. So, doing what I have done TIME AND TIME again, advertising the site so I can watch people come and go, I just keep paying to keep it open for the ones who actually use it. If anyone would be willing to take on the role of site ownership for exoticbirds.us, please E-mail me. I will be MORE than glad at this point to turn the keys over. I appreciate what Dave, and Donna have done to try to keep the ball rolling, and the time and effort they have put into the articles and posts on the site... but I don't have the time anymore to sit for hours at a time posting up ads for this site on other sites. The way I looked at it back then, If a days worth of ads brought one, and only one user that stays, I had accomplished something.. But I think only about two or 3% of our actual user base have been active in the last 12 months? I am not blaming anoyone, as we have done all we can, and I believe Dave and Donna would agree. There is nothing else I know to do... So, if anyone thinks they can make a go of this place,... just say the words... And for those of you who have taken a part in the site.. Thank you!

I am saddened as I went over and took a look at the members and realised how little activity and few posters there have been but I must have had my head buried in the sand as I did not realise so few people contributed. I am a long way away and the time difference makes a big difference but I just did not see what a battle you, Jason and Dave. and Donna have had.
I did not realise the costs you have Jase. to keep things going and of course with working so many hours it ain't easy mate.
As you said Jason accolades to Donna and Dave. and it feels like a family breakdown here and all I can say is "what a shame" as such great information and friendships were formed.
If Michael, and Rina, and Debby and M.Kay and many of the earlier members would decide to get back and realise none of the problems in the early days were of your making Jason and realise it was all a mistake of identities seems like with Dave. and Donna and yourself all at the helm and a few of us helping we could all work to get the place going again maybe?
If I am sticking my nose in and being a pain in the proverbial I will butt out. :) but seems such a lot of work went into the place and it is well run but hey sometimes things do not go as planned.
