Is this really wrong?

I am home alone tonite. Delton has gone of too a co-workers Christmas party that I should be attending as well. And I feel pretty dern good about it! I feel fine, but I have enough of a cough, and the loss of my voice makes me sound VERY ill. So I have a great excuse! Hey, I know how to work this stuff!
So here I sit, enjoying my relative peace. Oliver rolling thru his repitoire, dogs underfoot, and everywhere else I am, but still, enjoying my "alone" time. Is this wrong? I love my husband dearly. And I really DO miss him while he's gone, love when he comes back, but for this one little minute, this short span of time, I am just me again. I don't have to cook dinner. I can have one of those nasty old Mexican TV dinners, that are my guilty pleasures, for dinner and not feel bad. Shoot, I can just even have popcorn should the mood strike! Maybe I'll go nuts and chat on the computer all evening! I can watch trash TV, or some movie he'll never want to see, and not worry. Heck, I don't have to think of anyone other than me for at least 3 hours! Well, at least as far as humans go!
And I don't feel particularily bad for missing the party. I absolutely dread social things like that. I always enjoy it once I'm there, but the part of leading up to it is horrendous. I'd much rather have folks over to here, where I can control everything. But then starts in the Martha syndrome, where I fret every last detail, and again stress myself too much. Lord, why isn't Valium sold over the counter?
I wonder if anyone else is like this? BUT, in the meantime, I'm going to enjoy some guilty pleasures while I can!

Love-love,
Jethica

Hello!
I wouldn't worry about it. Plus, if you do sound that bad, you would just be spreading your germs! I'd enjoy every minute of it, sit home, relax and pamper yourself!

I understand where you are coming from. I live with my boyfriend of two years whom I love dearly, but sometimes it is nice to have some alone time to do what YOU like to do!!! If you don't take care of and love yourself that how can you fully take care of and love others?

I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only one!
My evening alone has turned out to be much better than I had even hoped for. I had been enjoying a dinner of Jalepeno poppers, ( alone, no veggies, meats, etc...), and chatting with Graeh, and some other friends online, when I got a call from the infamous Katrin! She IS real! All this time, we figured she was just a figment of his imagination! And she is as spectacular as he says she is. A very real, down to earth woman, with the most fantastic accent you've ever heard! I feel like I just met someone that I've known for years online, in person. What a hoot! Still grinnin'! She just called because he told her I wasn't felling well with a cold. What a sweetheart!
Like Graeh tells me, sometimes your real family is spread all over the world. You just have to search and find them.
I'll go to bed happy to have found another member of my family tonite.
Love,
Jeth

Jeth:

When I turned 50 I told Will that even OJ Simpson is a free man. I no longer feel obligated to hang on a man's coattails or be a fashion accessory. I have my friends, he has his friends and WE have OUR friends. I want for him to have a great time and that won't happen with me there unless I really feel like schmoozing. What's the point of staying married for 36 years if you can't say "no" and mean it? Its the natural order of things. Then, when you actually WANT to go, he'll be dumbstruck and so excited. Its a win, win situation, if you ask me.

"Me" time is a very healthy thing. I don't think any of us has enough quality "me" time. Enjoy it!!
