The mere possession of a lottery ticket WAS illegal in North Carolina and may result in a $2,000 fine. That was actually strictly enforced, with cops sitting on the NC/SC border during lottery time and pulling over speeders looking for tickets laying open in car seats. Now we sell lottery tickets.


No one may be a professional fortune-teller, and if one wishes to pursue the practice as an amateur, it must be practiced in a school or church.
