Ever see the Movie THE BIRDS?

I don't know if anyones ever come to Lancaster, PA in the winter but OMG, we get hundreds of thousands of crows, every winter. Around this time 5:00pm it looks like the movie THE BIRDS . I went out on the deck and they're everywhere, the sky is almost black. I have to get my daughter in a few minutes from after school activities and I'm gonna be watching the sky the whole way there and back. Boy do they make a racket, calling back and forth.

Wish I had a digital camera, so I could get some pics for everyone, maybe I'll ask my neighbor to borrow hers for tomarrow evening.

Here in Manhattan, KS we jokingly call the crow our official University bird. They are EVERYWHERE. They actually set off firecrackers to keep them off buildings. I think its mean, but jeez are they loud and annoying!

So that's where they go in the winter!
... I mean, we don't have many here in the winter.

I love the crows that visit our home so fearlessly, now that they've learned we mean them no harm. They'll forage within a couple of feet of me while I go about my business in the yard. Once, one even snatched a piece of donut out of my hand as I walked down the driveway. They nest in our trees, and I love the morning and evening calls they make to each other as they leave in the morning and return in the evening. That said, they're only a dozen or so. I'd love to see a video of them in their uncounted thousands!

Well I could try & get them to reconsider coming back for Christmas
- last year wasn't too cold. If my husband had a choice he's migrate too.

Here in GA we call them the Ghetto Chicken. They are everywhere as well. Our hound dog we had when i was growing up must have been a bird in a former life cause he would run after them trying to play or they annoyed him. He was too lazy to jump and grab but he either chased to chase them away or it was his play time....

They're everywhere, even in Brisbane. I had some of my Tiels in the bedroom for quality time and they were looking out the window. All of a sudden, this crow flies up and hits the window. He was trying to get my babies! (Just one more reason why I rarely take my birds outside). He wasn't very bright because he tried several time, each time hitting the window. The Tiels were flying all over the room in a panick until the crow left and I could calm them down. Manu crawled under my hair until he felt safe.

So just be warned, keep your birds well away from crows!

Glad your windows were closed...huh! That crow was determind to get in, probably would've tried to get through the screen. Poor babies, I don't blame them for trying to run for the hills..big ugly mean old crow.
