Let's Have Some Fun

OK, Let's get back on track and have some fun. If these photos don't make you laugh, you have officially bought the farm.

They are called: Scared of Santa?

Nancy, those were priceless. If you take a good look at some of those santas, I can't blame the kids for screaming!

I have to agree. Looks like Santa's been in the eggnog and fruitcake.

ROFL My son used to be terrified of Santa. At two and a half years old we were waiting in line to see Santa. He was fine with it until we got up to the front. My son went running up to Santa. My hubby and I thought it was so cute. he looked so excited. Then he got to Santa, kicked him in the shin and started screaming at him that if Santa came to his house he would shoot him with a gun and throw him in the car wash! We were shocked! I scooped him up and got him out of there before Santa could stand up. I was so embarrased! After that every Christmas eve my son was full of anxiety about Santa coming. We even set Santa traps to make sure Santa did not come in his room. To my son Santa was the equivelent of the boogie man. He even had his little sister fearing Santa until she was old enough to realize Santa left good stuff.
In fact at fifteen my son still says Santa is creepy. Needless to say even though he left presents every year Santa was not a welcome fellow in my house.

OK. I don't usually share the more "intimate" details of my life on public forums, but I'm gonna share this Christmas story with you now:

In 1975, I packed up my daughter Stacey and headed for Sears. They used to have a Santa here locally. She was very nervous about this guy and was fidgeting around in my purse. I wasn't really paying much attention to her as I was talking to a girlfriend who also had her two boys with her.

Finally, it was our turn. Stacey had a death grip on some small item, but bravely sat on Santa's lap. He tried to converse with her, but she just wasn't going to be THAT easy. Finally, in an attempt to start a conversation, he asked her what she had in her hand. She promptly handed it to him. Imagine how pleased and surprised I was when she presented him with a Tampon! Fortunately, the photo didn't occur at that moment, and I was able to retrieve it (I think I probably needed the darn thing). Just another Kodak moment from my very colorful life.

Now, top that one

Lynda and Nancy - very cute stories! My kids were never scared of santa, however, son used to be scared of the ghouls and ghosts at halloween; he would hide under the dining room table until all of the trick or treating was done!
Wow - I am getting old; that seems like decades ago - oh wait, it was!
