The best gift of all...............

With all the hustle and commercialization of the holiday season, we often forget the most important and best gifts of all.

Yesterday I received the most wonderful gift. It was not brought by UPS or Fed Ex. I couldn’t hold it in my hands, and I didn’t unwrap it, but I felt it in my heart. It came in the form of words in a very special Email.

It reminded me of my past, present, and even my future. It brought me to tears, yet made me smile. Simple words so carefully written to evoke so many feelings and to make my heart smile.

It came from a friend. One that I share a similar story with. One, who I was fortunate enough to meet on a board, though I wish it was because of better circumstances.

So the simple words from a friend will carry me through the holidays and will remain with me, each time I pull out some hard memories to share.
It’s because of the words that were written, I will continue to be me.

So for everyone else, I hope you take this with you, and remember, the holiday season is not all about spending money and getting the best and biggest gifts. The best gift can’t be wrapped or held. The best gift of all is making ones heart happy and sharing love.

And we wouldn't have it any other way Lisa. Never let anyone try to change you, they aren't a true friend if they do that. Remember, a friend will bail you out of jail, but only a true friend will be sitting there next to you saying, "man that was fun!!!"
