Our Caique past away

please lite a candle for our caique "Tobie". Christmas Eve we had just started to open our presents when my wife said...something is wrong with Tobie...she wasn't acting like her usual self. My wife said ....tobie is breathing very fast. She allowed me to pick her up and I brought her head to my face and I could feel the air coming from her nostrils...short bursts of air. we called our vet's office but they were closed and refered us to a vet in Tinton falls. we drove there I held Tobie wrapped in a towel, her head along side my face, so i could sense any change in her breathing. IT was steady but still faster than usual.
I swear she waited until we got to the vets office, because as soon as I handed her over to the doctor...her head went up . She died right there.
My wife Elizabeth and I sat in the room crying ....we can't belive she died. She is the happiest fun loving bird and this is a shock to us both.
We were going to have them search for the reason why she dies, but they said that they wouldn't return Tobie to us. We decided right then and there that we couldn't leave her. We took her home with us, we both drove home in tears. She isn't the only bird we have, but she was a "caique"...anyone that has one or been around one, knows they are "Persoanality Plus Birds".
we discussed what we would do, and I came up with an idea. I got PVC pipe 4 inch diameter, cut it to a 12 inch length, and got to end caps. I got the special glue and secured one end . then we placed Tobie wrapped in the hood from her favorite shirt that Elizabeth wore that Tobie treated like her special playground. We each wrote a letter to her and placed them inside. Once she was in the tube I sealed the other end and we dug a place in our garden and we placed her there. I can't replace Tobie...I don't think I want to get another Caique....I think it wouldn't be fair to that bird. I know I would expect the new bird to be like Tobie...and she really isn't replaceable.
So as I asked....lite a candle for my little feathered friend...Tobie.

Oh my gosh, I am soooo sorry, I've had one of my favorite birds die recently so I know how it feels, it's the worst feeling in the world and you just cant stop crying. I am here if you need to talk.
