The dreaded tetanus shot

Sunday I took another bite from Buck Buck, again on the face! No surprise there......... my girlfriend was visiting at the time and asked when I last had my tetanus shot. Hmmm........... got my last one while I was in the Navy 12 years ago. She made me promise to go get a shot. I do not promise anything, and I certainly hate shots, so was very hesitant. Being my elder and my dearest friend, I finally gave in to her and promised. She called me first thing yesterday morning reminding me of that dreaded promise! I was praying she had forgotten
Hubby and I went to the Health Department; he, too, needs one and I was under the assumption that he was getting his while we were there. NOT!
I am the biggest baby when it comes to pain, and I made hubby go in with me and hold my hand. I just knew I was going to panic, pass out, throw up.........something! Believe it or not it didn't hurt one bit! Guess all the bites I take from the fids has toughened me up somewhat. I was so proud of myself and walked out of there proudly displaying my Charlie Brown band aid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome Laurie!......I think your friend was probably right on this one as that is a very important shot to have (don't want to end up with lock jaw!)....shots really don't bother me that bad, but that one always seemed to make your arm feel like it weighed 100 lbs for some reason......sorry to hear you got bit again.... :-( I hope everything is ok...

Hey sweetie,
The bite is fine. Hubby applied his first aid to it and it is almost healed already! It really was my fault that I got bit. I can't blame Buck Buck, for if I did, I would seriously have doubts about keeping him! He can be such a love sponge, and his vocabulary has improved since Ms. Cookie came to live with us. No one else would be able to handle him or accept him for the beautiful baby he can be, so I accept my bites, and enjoy the moments when he is sharing the love that is there, just sometimes out of touch with his beak!

I can't remember when I got a tetanus shot last.. and Gillian bites me all the times, little bites. Do I have to go get one?

OUCH! I guess I am lucky that my particular tiels don't bite-they can nip but don't draw blood. Hope it heals up nicely, Laurie.
