Ideas for my human kid's 18th birthday?
My oldest will be 18 next month
On a recent trip to Italy he indicated he wanted a St Christopher medallion, so I have that for him, but I have no ideas in the way of a celebration. The drinking age here is 21, not that I want him out partying, I just know it was what I wanted to do on my 18th since 18 was the legal drinking age way back then Here are a couple of pics, the first was when he was just 6 weeks old now look at him!! He graduates in June!

My 18th birthday was at Ft Sill Oklahoma during basic training for the Army. I had joined the service with "Split Option" training that allowed me to go thru basic training during the summer before my senior year of high school.
We snuck off base at night (luckily we did not get caught) and attended one of the many local "gentleman's clubs" in Lawton OK and I spent a good part of the evening watching "dancers" on stage. Needless to say, the next day I was so hung-over that my drill sargant figured it out and I spent the day in the kitchens scrubbing pans and doing pushups. This to me was actually a good thing, as scrubbing pans was better than marching 10 to 20 miles a day with a hang-over. Wow.. that was back in 1991... man how time flies. And yes... it was a GREAT birthday! Even tho I could not drink (drinking age was 21 back then too). So.... just an idea.... just don't offer to go "with" him... have a few 'friends' take him... ROFLMAO... This is just a suggestion of course... as at 18 years of age, he's well past the age of doing things with the family as being a central highlight to his BDay.

What about a nice dinner, and you can compliment him on becoming a great person. Is he heading off to college, or something else? It is nice when parents say something (not corny) but appreciative :)

I'm 18, so just tell him he has the house to himself and go to a hotel for the night, or for a week. I'm not into parties or anything but just having a break from your parents once in a while is really nice (no offense).
What games does he play? I'm a gamer too! |

Well I just turned 20 and the legal drinking age here is 18 so what I was going to suggest is kinda outta the question lol.
I'd say the apartment idea is good or a cruise with a mate or something. Something to just get away and relax.
